Illegal Alcohol Trade Uncovered at Bambalapitiya Nightclub
In a significant crackdown, police in Bambalapitiya have uncovered an illegal operation involving the sale of alcohol without a license at a popular night social hall. The operation, which takes place at an establishment located near the Bambalapitiya railway station, was revealed following a special tip-off received by the police intelligence unit.
The raid occurred during the night, leading to the confiscation of over 45 bottles of locally and internationally produced alcoholic beverages that were stored for unlawful sale.
Initial investigations indicate that the nightclub is being run by an organized criminal identified only as 'Chamila,' who is currently residing abroad. This individual is believed to be managing the illicit business from overseas, even having secured a business registration certificate using their name.
Authorities have stated that investigations will continue to explore the connections between this illegal alcohol trade and the criminal involved, as police in Bambalapitiya aim to dismantle the operation and uphold the law.
