මෙරට මහජනතාවට ලිංගිකත්වය පිළිබඳ අධ්‍යාපනික කරුණු ලබාදීමේ දී අනුගමනය කළ යුතු ලිංගික අධ්‍යාපන සන්නිවේදන මාර්ගෝපදේශ එළිදැක්වීමේ උත්සවය අද (15) පස්වරුවේ සෞඛ්‍ය හා ජනමාධ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය වෛද්‍ය නලින්ද ජයතිස්ස මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් බණ්ඩාරනායක අනුස්මරණ ජාත්‍යන්තර සමන්ත්‍රණ ශාලා (BMICH) පරිශ්‍රයේ පිහිටි Jasmine ශාලාවේ දී පැවැත්වේ.

සෞඛ්‍ය හා ජනමාධ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයේ සෞඛ්‍ය ප්‍රවර්ධන කාර්යාංශය (Health Promotion Bureau) විසින් සංවිධානය කරනු ලබන මෙම උත්සවයේදී මෙරට ජනතාව, පාසල් පද්ධතිය සහ තාරුණ්‍යය ඉලක්ක කරගත් සුවිශේෂී ලිංගික සන්නිවේදන මාර්ගෝපදේශ සහ අධ්‍යයන වාර්තා කිහිපයක් නිල වශයෙන් එළිදැක්වීමට නියමිතය.

ශ්‍රී ලාංකීය දරුවන්ගේ හා නව යොවුන් පරපුරේ සෞඛ්‍ය, ගෞරවය, ආරක්ෂාව සහ යහපැවැත්ම තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් කිරීමේ ගමන්මගේ වැදගත් සන්ධිස්ථානයක් වන මෙහිදී එළිදැක්වෙන ප්‍රධාන ලේඛන අතර,

* වයසට ගැළපෙන ලිංගික අධ්‍යාපනය පිළිබඳ සන්නිවේදන මාර්ගෝපදේශය (National Communication Guideline on Age-appropriate Sexuality Education)

* ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ඔසප් සෞඛ්‍යය හා සනීපාරක්ෂාව පිළිබඳ ජාතික අධ්‍යයන වාර්තාව (Report of the National Study on Menstrual Health and Hygiene in Sri Lanka)

* 6 සහ 7 ශ්‍රේණිවල ගුරුවරුන් සඳහා වන වයසට ගැළපෙන ලිංගික අධ්‍යාපන සන්නිවේදන අත්පොත (Grade 6 & 7 Teachers' Handbook on Age-Appropriate Sexuality Education Communication)

* වෘත්තීය පුහුණු (TVET) ක්ෂේත්‍රය සෞඛ්‍ය ප්‍රවර්ධන පරිසරයක් ලෙස සංවර්ධනය කිරීමේ අවබෝධතා ගිවිසුමට අත්සන් තැබීම (Siging of a memorandum of understanding to develop TVET Sector as a health Promoting setting) වේ.

සන්නිවේදනය මෙන්ම නිවැරදි දැනුම ලබාදීම තුළින් සෞඛ්‍ය සම්පන්න, සවිබල ගැන්වූ තාරුණ්‍යයක් බිහිකිරීම මෙම සන්නිවේදන වැඩපිළිවෙළෙහි මූලික අරමුණ වන අතර, මෙම ජාතික වැදගතක්මකින් යුත් මාර්ගෝපදේශ හදුන්වාදීමත් සමග වගකිවයුතු සියලු අංශ මෙම මාර්ගෝපදේශ අනුගමනය කිරීම සිදු කළ යුතු බව සෞඛ්‍ය හා ජනමාධ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයේ සෞඛ්‍ය ප්‍රවර්ධන කාර්යාංශය පෙන්වා දෙනු ලබයි.

මෙම උත්සවයට කාන්තා හා ළමා කටයුතු අමාත්‍ය සරෝජා සාවිත්‍රි පෝල්රාඡ් මහත්මිය (Saroja Savithri Paulraj), සෞඛ්‍ය හා ජනමාධ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයේ නිලධාරීන්, අධ්‍යාපන, උසස් අධ්‍යාපන හා වෘත්තීය අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යාංශයේ නිලධාරීන් මෙන්ම රාජ්‍ය තාන්ත්‍රික ප්‍රජාව නියෝජනය කරමින් තානාපතිවරුන් ද සහභාගිවීමට නියමිතය.

New Guidelines for Sexual Education Unveiled in Sri Lanka

A significant milestone in sexual education was reached today with the unveiling of the National Communication Guidelines on Age-Appropriate Sexuality Education. This event took place at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), under the leadership of Minister of Health and Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

The Health Promotion Bureau organized this vital initiative which aims to equip Sri Lankans with essential knowledge regarding sexuality. This launch is expected to particularly target the school system and youth, as several key documents related to sexual education communication and research will be formally introduced.

Among the noteworthy documents set to be revealed are the guidelines designed for teachers and the findings of national studies addressing menstrual health and hygiene - a critical aspect in promoting awareness and understanding among younger generations.

These guidelines serve as an essential framework to strengthen the health, dignity, and safety of Sri Lankan children and adolescents. They aim to foster a well-informed and empowered youth, with a particular focus on age-appropriate education that complies with their developmental needs.

The guidelines include a manual specifically for teachers in Grades 6 and 7, along with insights on developing the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector as a health-promoting environment.

Dr. Jayatissa emphasized that providing accurate knowledge and communication is fundamental to nurturing a health-conscious youth. Furthermore, he stated the importance of all relevant sectors adhering to these guidelines, reinforcing a commitment to comprehensive sexual health education.

Joining this launch was Minister of Women and Child Affairs, Saroja Savithri Paulraj, along with officials from the Health and Media Ministries, the Ministry of Education, and representatives from the higher education and vocational training sectors, highlighting a collective effort to enhance the wellbeing of future generations.
