ශ්රී ලංකාව නිකුත් කරන විදේශ ගමන් බලපත්රවල පවතින විවිධ දෝෂ සහ ප්රමිතියෙන් තොර වීම හේතුවෙන් හිටපු පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්රීවරයෙකු බ්රිතාන්යයේදී රඳවා තබාගෙන ප්රශ්න කර ඇති බව සමගි ජන බලවේගයේ කොළඹ දිස්ත්රික් මන්ත්රී මුජිබුර් රහුමාන් මහතා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී අනාවරණය කළේය.
විදේශ ගමන් බලපත්රය නිසි පරිදි කියවීමට නොහැකි වීම හේතුවෙන් එය ව්යාජ එකක් බවට සැක කරමින් බ්රිතාන්ය ආගමන විගමන බලධාරීන් මෙම පියවර ගෙන ඇති බව මන්ත්රීවරයා මෙහිදී පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.
මීට පෙර පිටු 64කින් සමන්විත වූ බලපත්රය මේ වන විට පිටු 48ක් දක්වා අඩු කර ඇති නමුත්, ඒ සඳහා අය කරන රුපියල් 6000ක ගාස්තුවේ කිසිදු වෙනසක් සිදු කර නොමැති බව ද ඔහු පැවසීය.
නව බලපත්රවල නිරීක්ෂණ පිටු හෝ කාලය දීර්ඝ කිරීමේ පිටු ඇතුළත් නොවන බවත්, එහි මුද්රණ ගුණාත්මකභාවය ඉතා පහළ මට්ටමක පවතින බවත් මන්ත්රීවරයා චෝදනා කළේය.
විශේෂයෙන්ම ආගමන විගමන මුද්රාව තැබීමේදී තීන්ත අනෙක් පසට මතු වීම වැනි ගැටලු නිසා ඇතැම් රටවල් මෙම බලපත්ර ප්රතික්ෂේප කරන බව ද ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.
මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් පිළිතුරු ලබා දුන් මහජන ආරක්ෂක සහ පාර්ලිමේන්තු කටයුතු අමාත්ය ආනන්ද විජේපාල මහතා ප්රකාශ කළේ බලපත්රවල ප්රමිතිය පිළිබඳ ගැටලුවක් නොමැති බවයි.
ජාත්යන්තර ප්රමිතීන්ට අනුකූලව පිටු ගණන අඩු කිරීම ලෝකයේ අනෙක් රටවල් ද අනුගමනය කරන ක්රමවේදයක් බව ඔහු පැවසීය.
කෙසේ වෙතත්, විදේශ ගමන් බලපත්ර මිලියන පහක් ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා වූ ටෙන්ඩරය සම්බන්ධයෙන් අධිකරණ ක්රියාමාර්ගයක් පවතින බවත්, ඊ-පාස්පෝට් (E-Passport) ක්රමය හඳුන්වා දීමේදී මතුව ඇති ගැටලු නිරාකරණය කර ගැනීමට කටයුතු කරන බවත් අමාත්යවරයා මෙහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.
Concerns Raised Over Deficiencies in Sri Lankan Passports
Issues surrounding the quality of Sri Lankan passports have come to light, following the detention of a former parliamentarian in the UK due to suspected defects. Mujibur Rahuman, a member of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya representing the Colombo District, disclosed this troubling situation during a recent parliamentary session.
According to Rahuman, UK immigration officials expressed concern when they were unable to read the passport properly, leading them to suspect it was fraudulent. This incident raises serious questions about the standards of Sri Lankan travel documents.
He noted that while the number of pages in the passport has been reduced from 64 to 48, the fee of Rs. 6,000 remains unchanged, prompting concerns over value for money.
Rahuman criticized the new passports for lacking observation pages or any extended validity periods. He also highlighted the subpar printing quality, which has reportedly caused some countries to reject these passports, particularly during immigration processing when ink smudging occurs.
Responding to these allegations, Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Ananda Weerasinghe, insisted that there are no issues regarding the quality of the passports. He claimed that reducing the number of pages aligns with international standards adopted by other countries.
However, he acknowledged that there are ongoing legal proceedings concerning a tender for the procurement of five million passports, assuring that efforts are underway to resolve issues arising from the introduction of the electronic passport system.
*Note: In case of any discrepancy between the Sinhala and English versions, the Sinhala version shall prevail.
Not only passport, look at the birth certificates, if you request a origianl birth certifcate copy, you get a photocopy of original, but embassies not accepting this! many embassies reject it as a photocopy, not the original, though there is a chop.. Govenment needs to pay attention to this too

ReplyDeleteමුං හරියට කළේ කන්ටේනර් 323 පන්නපු එකයි, බාල ගල් අඟුරු නැව් 19 කින් පගා ගත්ත එකයි, මාලිමා ඡන්දෙට ආධාර නොකළ ව්යාපාරිකයෝ/පාතාලයෝ වනසන එකයි, සමාජ ප්රාග්ධනය කියා කොමිස් හා පගාව ගහන එකයි විතරයි. දැන් 76 වසරක් රැකගෙන ආ අධිකරණයටත්, පොලීසියටත් කෙලින්න හදන්නේ.

DeleteI have faced this problem many times in GCC. Passport is not reading in egates and needs to try many times. In addition when we scan the passport, details are not visible clearly and facing a lot issues when you apply for new visas. Hope govt will do somthing about this.

ReplyDeleteඕකා රාජපක්හොරු රජයෙන් ගත්ත දීමනා බැලුවම රජයේ වියදමෙන් 100 ට දශම ගානක් කියලා වැලලුනා. ඒ දශම ගාන වසරකට මිලියන 200ක විතර ගණනක්. මුන් හරියට මුන්ගේ ගෙදරින් ගෙනාපු සල්ලි කුලියාපිටියට වියදම් කරා වගේ කතාව. අධ්යාපනය කෑවේ ඕකා. රනිල්ගේ කිරිපල්ල අතගගා රටේ සල්ලි නාස්තිකරමින් පිස්සු කෙලපු මුන් කවුද ? නිතිය හැමෝටම එක සමානනම් හිරගෙදර ජීවිතයත් එක සමාන වෙන්න ඕනේ.
