 හාලිඇල උඩදොම්පේ ශ්‍රී විසුද්ධාරාම විහාරස්ථානයේ බෝධීන් වහන්සේලා වටා කුටිවල තැන්පත් කර තිබූ බුදු පිළිම 5 කට අලාභ හානි සිදුකර ඇතැයි විහාරාධිපති හිමියෝ පැමිණිලි කර ඇතැයි හාලිඇල පොලිසිය පවසයි.

ඉකුත් 17 වැනිදා රාත්‍රි කාලයේ හෝ 18 වැනිදා අලුයම් කාලයේ සිදුකළ මෙම අපරාධය දේශපාලන ක්‍රියාවක්ද නැතිනම් වෙනත් විරසකයක් මත සිදුවුවක් දැයි විමර්ශනය කර නීතිමය පියවර ගන්නා ලෙසද උන් වහන්සේ සිය පැමිණිල්ලෙන් ඉල්ලා තිබේ.

මේ ස්ථානයේ වඳුරන් ගැවසී ඇති බවද විමර්ශනවලදී අනාවරණය වූ අතර මෙය සුළු අපරාධයක් ද නැතිනම් වෙනත් හේතුවක් නිසා සිදුවූවක් දැයි සොයා විමර්ශන සිදුකරන අතර එම විමර්ශනයේදී අනාවරණය වන සාක්කි මත ඉදිරි නීතිමය පියවර ගන්නා බවද පොලිසිය පැවැසීය.

Investigation Underway After Buddha Statues Vandalized at Haliela Temple

The Chief Incumbent of the Sri Vishuddharama Viharaya in Haliela has reported damage to five Buddha statues housed in kutis (small shelters) surrounding the temple. This incident was confirmed by local police authorities.

The alleged vandalism took place during the night of the 17th or the early hours of the 18th, prompting the temple authorities to request a thorough investigation to determine whether this act was politically motivated or inspired by other malevolent intentions.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that monkeys have been present in the area, raising questions about whether this could be a minor incident or linked to other underlying causes. Law enforcement officials have stated that they will gather evidence during the ongoing inquiry and will implement legal action based on the findings.
