උප පොලිස් පරීක්ෂකවරයෙකු ලෙස සේවය කරමින් සිටිය දී, සැකකරුවන්, පැමිණිලිකරුවන්, විත්තිකරුවන් සහ අපරාධ චෝදනා සම්බන්ධයෙන් වරදකරුවන් වූ පුද්ගලයන් සමඟ සබඳතා පවත්වමින් බැංකු ගිණුම් වෙත නීත්‍යනුකූල නොවන ආකාරයෙන් මුදල් ගිණුම්ගත කර, එම මුදල් විශුද්ධි කරණය කිරීම යන චෝදනාව මත උප පොලිස් පරීක්ෂකවරයෙකු (වැඩ තහනම්) වූ මෙහොට්ටි ආරච්චිලාගේ ලහිරු ප්‍රමෝද යන අය අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ චෝදනා විමර්ශන කොමිෂන් සභාවේ විමර්ශන නිලධාරීන් විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා ලදි.

අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා ලද සැකකරු කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිතව ඇත.

Sub-Inspector Arrested for Alleged Corruption and Money Laundering

In a disturbing case of police misconduct, Lahiru Pramodh, a sub-inspector serving in the police force, has been arrested on allegations of maintaining illicit connections with suspects, complainants, witnesses, and accused individuals involved in criminal cases. The charges against him include the illegal transfer of funds to bank accounts and laundering those funds.

This investigation was conducted by officials from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, leading to his arrest while still serving in his capacity as a police officer.

Pramodh is scheduled to be presented before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court soon, where further legal actions will be determined.
