"පොහොසත් රටක් – ලස්සන ජීවිතයක්" යන රජයේ ප්රතිපත්ති ප්රකාශය යථාර්ථයක් බවට පත් කරමින්, ඉන්දියානු රජයේ ආධාර සහ ශ්රී ලංකා රජයේ අනුග්රහය යටතේ ක්රියාත්මක වන ඉන්දියානු නිවාස ව්යාපෘතියේ සිව්වන අදියරේ නිවාස 10,000ක වැඩසටහන යටතේ බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික්කයේ පස්සර ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාසයේ කනවරැල්ල ප්රදේශයේ නිවාස 57ක් ඉදිකිරීම සඳහා මුල්ගල් තැබීම සිදු කෙරිණි.
වැවිලි හා ප්රජා යටිතල පහසුකම් අමාත්ය සමන්ත විද්යාරත්න මහතාගේ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් පැවති මෙම අවස්ථාවට ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ඉන්දියානු මහකොමසාරිස් කාර්යාලයේ කොන්සල් ජෙනරාල් හර්වින්ද්රර් සිං මහතා ද එක් වූ අතර, මලෛගම් ප්රජාවට සුරක්ෂිත, ගුණාත්මක සහ ගෞරවනීය නිවාස පහසුකම් ලබාදීමේ අරමුණින් වැවිලි හා ප්රජා යටිතල පහසුකම් අමාත්යාංශය විසින් මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය ක්රියාත්මක කරනු ලබයි.
මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය යටතේ නායයෑමේ අවදානමට ලක්ව සිටින කනවරැල්ල ප්රදේශයේ පවුල් 57ක් සඳහා ස්ථිර, ආරක්ෂිත සහ සියලු මූලික පහසුකම්වලින් සමන්විත නව නිවාස 57ක් ඉදිකිරීමට නියමිතය. 2014 වසරේ සිට දීර්ඝ කාලයක් තිස්සේ නායයෑමේ අවදානම හේතුවෙන් අසීරු තත්ත්වයන් යටතේ ජීවත් වූ මෙම පවුල් සඳහා සුරක්ෂිත නිවාස පරිසරයක් සහ ගෞරවනීය ජීවන තත්ත්වයක් උරුම කරදීම මෙම ව්යාපෘතියේ මූලික අරමුණ වේ. එක් නිවාස ඒකකයක් සඳහා ඉන්දියානු රජය විසින් රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 28ක මූල්ය ප්රතිපාදන ලබාදෙන අතර, අමතර යටිතල පහසුකම් සංවර්ධනය සඳහා ශ්රී ලංකා රජය විසින් එක් නිවාසයක් සඳහා රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 4ක ප්රතිපාදන වෙන් කර ඇත.
මෙහිදී අදහස් දැක්වූ වැවිලි හා ප්රජා යටිතල පහසුකම් අමාත්ය සමන්ත විද්යාරත්න මහතා පැවසුවේ,
"නිවසක් යනු බිත්ති හතරක් සහ වහලක් පමණක් නොවෙයි. එය පවුලක සුරක්ෂිතභාවය, ගෞරවය සහ අනාගතය ගොඩනැගෙන පදනමයි. 'පොහොසත් රටක් – ලස්සන ජීවිතයක්' යන රජයේ දැක්ම යථාර්ථයක් බවට පත් කරමින් කිසිදු පුරවැසියෙකු අනාරක්ෂිත පරිසරයක ජීවත් වීමට ඉඩ නොතැබීම රජයේ වගකීමයි. ඉන්දියානු රජය සමඟ පවතින දිගුකාලීන මිත්රත්වයේ ප්රතිඵලයක් ලෙස අද කනවරැල්ලේ පවුල් 57කට සුරක්ෂිත නිවසක සිහිනය සැබෑ කර දීමට හැකිවීම පිළිබඳ අපි සතුටු වෙනවා. වැවිලි ප්රජාවගේ ජීවන තත්ත්වය නංවාලමින් ඔවුන්ට ගෞරවනීය ජීවිතයක් උරුම කරදීම සඳහා රජය අඛණ්ඩව කැපවී සිටිනවා" යනුවෙනි.
Foundation Laid for 57 Homes in Kanavaralla Under Indian Housing Project
In a significant step towards realizing the government's vision of "A Prosperous Country – A Beautiful Life," the foundation stone for the construction of 57 homes in the Kanavaralla area of the Passara Divisional Secretariat in Badulla District has been laid. This initiative is part of the fourth phase of the Indian Housing Project, which operates under the support of both the Indian government and the Sri Lankan authorities.
Minister of Housing and Community Infrastructure, Samantha Vidyaratne, led the event, joined by Harvindran Singh, the Consul General of India in Sri Lanka. The project aims to provide the Maligam community with secure, high-quality, and dignified housing facilities, a commitment from the Ministry of Housing and Community Infrastructure.
These new homes will offer a stable, safe environment equipped with essential amenities for 57 families currently at risk of natural disasters in the Kanavaralla area. Since 2014, these families have endured adversity due to their vulnerable living conditions, and the project seeks to ensure a secure habitation environment and an enhanced quality of life for them.
The Indian government is investing Rs. 2.8 million for each housing unit, while the Sri Lankan government has allocated Rs. 400,000 per unit for additional infrastructure development.
During the ceremony, Minister Samantha Vidyaratne emphasized, “A house is not just four walls and a roof. It is the foundation of security, dignity, and the future of a family. The government's commitment is to ensure that no citizen lives in an unsafe environment, thereby making the vision of 'A Prosperous Country – A Beautiful Life' a reality. We are delighted to fulfill the dream of a secure home for 57 families in Kanavaralla, as a testament to our long-standing friendship with the Indian government. The government remains steadfast in its dedication to uplifting the living standards of the community, providing them with a dignified life.”
