මෙරට අපනයන සඳහා වන තීරුබදු සහන සම්බන්ධයෙන් ඉදිරියේදී ඇමරිකාවෙන් සුබ පණිවිඩයක් ලැබීමට නියමිත බව ඇමරිකා එක්සත් ජනපදයේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා තානාපති මහින්ද සමරසිංහ මහතා පවසයි.

ඇමරිකාවේ පැවති උත්සවයකදී අදහස් දක්වමින් ඔහු සඳහන් කළේ, අදාළ තීරුබදු සහන තවදුරටත් අඩු කරගැනීම සඳහා වන ගැසට් නිවේදනයකට ජනාධිපතිවරයාගේ අත්සන මීට දින කිහිපයකට පෙර ලබාගත් බවයි.

එමඟින් ශ්‍රී ලාංකික ජනතාවට සහ අපනයනකරුවන්ට විශාල සහනයක් අත්වනු ඇතැයි ඔහු විශ්වාසය පළ කළේය.

තමන් තානාපති ධුරයෙන් ඉවත් වී යළි මෙරටට පැමිණෙන බවත්, එසේ පැමිණිය ද නැවත සක්‍රීය දේශපාලනයට පිවිසීමේ අදහසක් නොමැති බවත් ඔහු මෙහිදී අවධාරණය කළේය.

"මම ලංකාවට ගියාට පස්සෙත් වැඩ කරන්නේ මගේ මව්බිම වෙනුවෙන්. ඒ සේවය නතර වෙන්නේ නැහැ. නමුත් මම කිසිදු දේශපාලන පක්ෂයකට සම්බන්ධ වෙන්න බලාපොරොත්තු වෙන්නේ නැහැ," යැයි ඔහු පැවසීය.

වත්මන් රජය සමඟ ඉතා සුහදව කටයුතු කළ බවත්, තමන්ට තවදුරටත් එම ධුරයේ රැඳී සිටින ලෙස රජය ආරාධනා කළ ද ස්වකීය කැමැත්ත මත ඉන් ඉවත් වීමට තීරණය කළ බවත් මහින්ද සමරසිංහ මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

තමන් තානාපති ධුරය දැරූ කාලය තුළ කිසිදු දේශපාලන කටයුත්තකට සම්බන්ධ නොවී රට වෙනුවෙන් උපරිම සේවයක් ඉටු කිරීමට උත්සාහ කළ බව ද ඔහු සඳහන් කළේය.

US Ambassador Mahinda Samarasinghe Anticipates Positive Trade Tax News for Sri Lanka

The U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mahinda Samarasinghe, has expressed optimism about receiving favorable news regarding export tax relief from America in the near future. Speaking at an event in the United States, he noted that the necessary presidential signature for a gazette notification to further reduce the relevant tariffs was acquired just days ago.

Samarasinghe believes this development will provide significant relief to the Sri Lankan people and exporters, highlighting its potential impact on strengthening trade relationships.

He also confirmed his intent to return to Sri Lanka after stepping down from his ambassadorial role, emphasizing that he has no plans to re-enter active politics. "Even after returning to Sri Lanka, my work will continue to be for my motherland. This service will not cease, but I do not intend to get involved with any political party," he declared.

In his remarks, Samarasinghe shared that he had worked harmoniously with the current government, adding that while he was invited to continue in his position, he decided to resign based on personal preference. He emphasized his commitment to serving the country to the best of his ability during his tenure without engaging in political activities.
