 බන්ධනාගාර රැදවුම් භාරයේ පසුවන සංවිධානාත්මක අපරාධකරුවකු වන හරක් කටා නමැත්තාට විශේෂ පහසුකම් සලසා දීම සඳහා ඔහුගේ බිරිඳගෙන් රුපියල් කෝටි 12ක අල්ලසක් ඉල්ලා ලබාගත් බවට චෝදනා එල්ල වූ සැකකරුවන්  ඇප මත මුදා හැරීමට කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අසංග එස්. බෝදරගම මහතා අද (28) නියෝග කළේය.

මෙසේ ඇප මත මුදා හරිනු ලැබුවේ නීතීඥ රඛිත නිර්මල රාජපක්ෂ, සමගි ජන බලවේගයේ හොරණ ආසන සංවිධායක වරිත අබේසිංහ සහ සිවිල් ගුවන් සේවා අධිකාරියේ හිටපු අධ්‍යක්ෂවරයෙකු වන අරුණ ශ්‍රී චතුරංග යන අයයි.

අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ විමර්ශන කොමිෂන් සභාව මගින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාරගත කර සිටි මෙම සැකකරුවන් එක් අයෙකුට රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 50 බැගින් වූ ශරීර ඇප දෙකක් සහ රුපියල් ලක්ෂයක මුදල් ඇපයක් මත මුදා හැරීමට අධිකරණය තීරණය කළේය.

මීට අමතරව, සැකකරුවන්ට විදේශගත වීම වළක්වාලමින් සංචාරක තහනමක් පැනවීමට ද මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා මෙහිදී පියවර ගත්තේය.

අදාළ අපරාධකරුට බන්ධනාගාරය තුළදී විවිධ වරප්‍රසාද ලබා දීම සඳහා ඔහුගේ බිරිඳ පොළඹවා ගනිමින් මෙම මහා පරිමාණ මූල්‍ය වංචාව සිදු කර ඇති බවට විමර්ශනවලදී අනාවරණය වී තිබුණි.

Court Grants Bail to Suspects in High-Profile Bribery Case Involving Organized Criminal

In a significant development, Colombo's Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama has ordered the release on bail of suspects accused of soliciting a bribe of 12 million rupees from the wife of a notorious organized crime figure, identified as Harak Katha. The magistrate's decision was made on the 28th, allowing the three suspects to be released under specific conditions.

The suspects released on bail include attorney Rakhitha Nirmal Rajapaksha, Somagi Jana Balawegaya's organizing secretary for Horana, Waritha Abeysinghe, and former Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, Aruna Sri Chaturanga.

Previously detained on charges filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, one of the suspects was ordered to post two bails of 500,000 rupees and a cash bail of 1 million rupees for their release. Additionally, the magistrate has imposed a travel ban on the suspects to prevent them from leaving the country.

Investigations revealed that the bribery scheme involved luring the wife of the convicted criminal into facilitating significant financial fraud while he was incarcerated. This case highlights the troubling intertwining of organized crime and corruption within the nation.
