 දූෂණ චෝදනා සම්බන්ධයෙන් අධිකරණය හමුවේ පෙනී සිටින හිටපු අමාත්‍ය ප්‍රසන්න රණතුංග මහතාට පනවා තිබූ විදේශ ගමන් තහනම තාවකාලිකව ලිහිල් කිරීමට කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය අද (14) නියෝග කළේය.

කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මහෙස්ත්‍රාත් අසංග එස්. බෝදරාගම මහතා ඉදිරියේ මෙම නඩුව කැඳවනු ලැබූ අවස්ථාවේදී මෙම නියෝගය නිකුත් විය.

ප්‍රසන්න රණතුංග මහතා වෙනුවෙන් පෙනී සිටි ජනාධිපති නීතිඥ අනිල් සිල්වා මහතා අධිකරණය හමුවේ කරුණු දක්වමින් කියා සිටියේ, තම සේවාදායකයාට පෞද්ගලික කටයුත්තක් සඳහා විදේශගත වීමට අවශ්‍යව ඇති බැවින් දැනට පනවා ඇති විදේශ ගමන් තහනම තාවකාලිකව ලිහිල් කරන ලෙසයි.

මෙම ඉල්ලීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අල්ලස් කොමිසමේ නිලධාරීන් අධිකරණයට දන්වා සිටියේ, ඒ පිළිබඳව අධිකරණයට සෑහීමකට පත්විය හැකි සුදුසු නියෝගයක් නිකුත් කරන ලෙසයි.

ඉදිරිපත් වූ කරුණු සලකා බැලූ මහෙස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා, රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 10ක අමතර ශරීර ඇපයක් මත දැනට පනවා තිබෙන විදේශ ගමන් තහනම තාවකාලිකව ලිහිල් කිරීමට නියෝග කළේය.

Colombo Court Temporarily Lifts Travel Ban on Former Minister Prasanna Ranatunga

The Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court has temporarily lifted the travel ban imposed on former Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, who is currently facing corruption charges. This ruling was issued today, the 14th, during a hearing led by Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama.

During the proceedings, Anil Silva, the legal representative for Ranatunga, argued that his client requires permission to travel abroad for personal reasons. He requested the court to ease the existing travel restrictions.

In response, officials from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption indicated that they would be satisfied if the court could issue a reasonable order regarding the request.

After considering the presented information, the magistrate granted the request, allowing a temporary lift on the travel ban, provided that a bond of 10 million rupees is posted.
