විනිසුරු කාලය දීර්ඝ කරන පනත ඉක්මනටම පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට ගේනවා..- වසන්ත

අධිකරණ විනිසුරුවරුන්ගේ සේවා කාලය දීර්ඝ කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් වන ආණ්ඩුක්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනයක් රජය විසින් ඉදිරියේදී ගෙන ඒමට නියමිත බව අමාත්‍ය වසන්ත සමරසිංහ මහතා (24) පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී අනාවරණය කළේය.

අධිකරණ අමාත්‍ය හර්ෂණ නානායක්කාර මහතාට එරෙහිව විපක්ෂය ඉදිරිපත් කළ විශ්වාසභංග යෝජනාව පිළිබඳ විවාදයට එක්වෙමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා මේ බව සඳහන් කළේය.

එහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ අමාත්‍ය වසන්ත සමරසිංහ මහතා මෙසේ ද පැවසීය.

"අධිකරණවල විනිශ්චයකාරවරුන්ගේ සේවා කාලය දීර්ඝ කිරීම පිළිබඳ ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනයක් ඉදිරියේදී එනවා. ඒකටත් අපි දිනයක් ගත්තාම විපක්ෂයට අලුතින් දේවල් කියන්න, අලුත් දේවල් හොයාගන්න සිද්ධ වෙයි. ඒ ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනයත් අපි ඉස්සරහට ගේනවා."

මීගමුව බන්ධනාගාර ගැටුම මුල් කරගනිමින් විපක්ෂය එල්ල කරන චෝදනා හමුවේ රජය නොසැලෙන බවත්, අධිකරණ පද්ධතියේ ව්‍යුහාත්මක වෙනස්කම් සිදු කිරීමට රජය සූදානම් බවත් අමාත්‍යවරයා පැවැසීය.

Government to Propose Constitutional Amendment Extending Judicial Service Tenure

In a significant announcement in Parliament, Minister Vasanta Samarasinghe revealed that the government is planning to introduce a constitutional amendment aimed at extending the service tenure of judicial officers. This revelation came during a debate on a no-confidence motion presented against Minister of Justice, Harshan Nanayakkara.

Emphasizing the importance of this amendment, Minister Samarasinghe stated, "We have decided to bring forward a constitutional amendment concerning the extension of judicial officers' service tenure. Once we finalize a date, the opposition will need to find new grounds to contest this issue. We are committed to moving this constitutional amendment forward."

In light of the criticisms raised by the opposition following the recent Meegamuwa prison incident, the Minister underscored that the government remains steadfast and is prepared for structural changes within the judiciary.
