මීගමුව මහා නගර සභාවේ නගරාධිපති නීතිඥ රොබට් හීන්කෙන්ද මහතා අද පස්වරුවේ සිය ධුරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වන බව නිවේදනය කළේය.

පසුගිය පළාත් පාලන මැතිවරණයෙන් අනතුරුව මීගමුව නගරාධිපති ධුරය සඳහා හීන්කෙන්ද මහතා පත් කරනු ලැබීය.

සිය ඉල්ලා අස්වීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දක්වමින් ඔහු කියා සිටියේ මෙය පෞද්ගලික හේතුවක් මත ගත් තීරණයක් බවයි. 

ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ දේශපාලන අධිකාරිය විසින් තමන්ව මෙම ධුරයට පත් කළ ආකාරයටම, ඉදිරියේදී එම පක්ෂය විසින් නව නගරාධිපතිවරයෙකු පත් කරනු ඇති බව ද හීන්කෙන්ද මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

සිය ඉල්ලා අස්වීම ආසන්නයේ ඔහු තම සමාජ ජාල ගිණුමේ තබා ඇති සටහන් පෙලක්ද සමාජ ජාලවල හුවමාරු වෙමින් ඇත.

Meegamuwa Municipal Council Chief Resigns from Office

In a surprising announcement this afternoon, Attorney-at-Law Robert Heenkenda declared his resignation from the position of Mayor of the Meegamuwa Municipal Council.

Heenkenda was appointed to the mayoral role following the recent provincial council elections.

Commenting on his decision to step down, he emphasized that it was a choice made for personal reasons.

Heenkenda also noted that, similar to how he was appointed by the National People’s Power political authority, the party is expected to appoint a new mayor in the near future.

Following his resignation, a series of posts regarding his decision have been circulating on social media platforms.
