ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථික අමාත්යාංශය සහ GovTech ශ්රී ලංකා ආයතනය එක්ව සංවිධානය කළ "වඩා යහපත් නීති සම්පාදනය සඳහා වඩා යහපත් මෙවලම්" (Better Tools for Better Lawmaking) තේමාව යටතේ පැවැති විශේෂ වැඩමුළුවක් නීති කෙටුම්පත් සම්පාදක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේදී (LDD) පැවැත්විණි.
ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථික නියෝජ්ය අමාත්ය, එරංග වීරරත්න මහතාගේ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් පැවැති මෙම වැඩමුළුවේදී, නීති කෙටුම්පත් කිරීමේ ක්රියාවලිය සඳහා කෘත්රිම බුද්ධිය (AI) භාවිත කිරීමේ දැක්ම සහ වැඩපිළිවෙල ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලදී. මෙහි පළමු පියවර ලෙස යෝජිත අතථ්ය වත්කම් සේවා සපයන්නන්ගේ (VASP) පනත් කෙටුම්පත සඳහා මෙම AI තාක්ෂණය භාවිත කිරීමට යෝජනා වී ඇත.
මීට සමගාමීව, AI තාක්ෂණය ඔස්සේ කෙටුම්පත් කිරීම, තහවුරු කිරීම සහ ත්රිභාෂා නිෂ්පාදන මෙවලම් භාවිතයේ ප්රායෝගික හැකියාවන් පෙන්වා දෙමින් GovTech ශ්රී ලංකා ආයතනයේ නීති උපදේශක ත්රිනේෂ් ප්රනාන්දු මහතා ඇතුළු ඉෂාන් රසීන් සහ චින්තනී ඈපාආරච්චි යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන් විසින් දැනුම හුවමාරු කර ගැනීමේ සැසියක් මෙහෙයවන ලදී. එමෙන්ම එහිදී දත්ත සූදානම, ආරක්ෂණ ක්රමවේද සහ නියමු ව්යාපෘතිය ඉදිරියට ගෙන යාම පිළිබඳව දීර්ඝ ලෙස අදහස් හුවමාරු කර ගැණින.
මෙම සාකච්ඡාව සඳහා ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථිකය පිළිබඳ ජනාධිපති ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ උපදේශක සහ GovTech ශ්රී ලංකා සභාපති ආචාර්ය හාන්ස් විජයසූරිය , ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථික අමාත්යාංශයේ ලේකම් වරුණ ශ්රී ධනපාල, නීති කෙටුම්පත් සම්පාදක දිල්රුක්ෂි සමරවීර, යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන් ඇතුළු නීති කෙටුම්පත් සම්පාදක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ සහ ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථික අමාත්යාංශයේ ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ නිලධාරීහු පිරිසක් එක්ව සිටියහ.
Workshop Explores AI-driven Solutions for Lawmaking in Sri Lanka
A specialized workshop focusing on "Better Tools for Better Lawmaking" was held at the Law Drafting Department, organized collaboratively by the Ministry of Digital Economy and the GovTech Sri Lanka agency.
Chaired by the Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Eranga Weeraratne, the event showcased the vision and procedural framework for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the law drafting processes. As part of the initial steps, the use of AI technology was proposed for drafting legislation concerning Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs).
In tandem with this initiative, a session led by legal advisors from GovTech Sri Lanka, including Thrinayesh Pranandu, Ishaan Rasheen, and Chinthani Apatharachi, highlighted the practical applications of AI in law drafting, verification, and trilingual production tools. The discussion further delved into data preparedness, security mechanisms, and strategies for advancing ongoing projects.
Notable figures in attendance included Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, Senior Advisor to the President on Digital Economy and Chairperson of GovTech Sri Lanka; Varuna Sridhanapala, Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Economy; and Dilrukshi Samarawira, head of the Law Drafting Department, along with several senior officials from both departments.
