විදුලියට ඉන්ධන සහනාධාර අත්හිටුවයි.. විදුලි ගාස්තු ඉහලට..

 

ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාව විසින් විදුලි උත්පාදනය සඳහා ලබා දුන් ඉන්ධන සහනාධාරය නතර කිරීම සහ ඉන්ධන මිල ඉහළ දැමීම හේතුවෙන් ඉදිරියේදී විදුලි ගාස්තු යළිත් ඉහළ යාමේ අවදානමක් මතුව ඇති බව වාර්තා යි.

ඛනිජ තෙල් සංස්ථාව විසින් Naphtha සහ HFO මිල සියයට 20කින් පමණ ඉහළ දමා ඇති අතර, මීට පෙර විදුලි බල ක්ෂේත්‍රය සඳහා ලබා දුන් සහනදායී මිල ක්‍රමයද අත්හිටුවීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇත.

මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් ඛනිජ තෙල් සංස්ථාවේ කළමනාකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂ මයුර නෙත්තිකුමාරගේ මහතා පවසා ඇත්තේ, දැවෙන තෙල් ලීටරයක මිල රුපියල් 210 සිට 248 දක්වාත්, නැප්තා ලීටරයක මිල රුපියල් 174 සිට 210 දක්වාත් ඉහළ දමා ඇති බවයි.

විදුලි ගාස්තු ස්ථාවරව පවත්වා ගැනීම සඳහා මාස තුනක කාලයකට ස්ථාවර මිලක් යටතේ ඉන්ධන ලබා දීමට 2026 අප්‍රේල් 18 වැනිදා ඇති කරගත් එකඟතාව මේ වන විට අවසන් වී ඇති බව සංස්ථාව විසින් ජාතික පද්ධති මෙහෙයුම්කරු (NSO) වෙත දැනුම් දී තිබේ.

මෙම ඉන්ධන මිල ඉහළ යාම කැලණිතිස්ස, සපුගස්කන්ද සහ යුගදනවි වැනි ප්‍රධාන තාප විදුලි බලාගාරවල නිෂ්පාදන පිරිවැය ඉහළ නැංවීමට සෘජුවම බලපානු ඇත.

ජාතික පද්ධති මෙහෙයුම්කරුගේ සභාපති ප්‍රදීප් පෙරේරා මහතා සඳහන් කර ඇත්තේ, ඔක්තෝබර් - දෙසැම්බර් කාර්තුව සඳහා වන ගාස්තු සංශෝධන යෝජනාව ලබන සැප්තැම්බර් 04 වැනිදා ශ්‍රී ලංකා මහජන උපයෝගිතා කොමිෂන් සභාව (PUCSL) වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිත බවයි.

රජය ලබා දුන් සහනාධාරය අවසන් වීම හේතුවෙන් ඉහළ ගිය පිරිවැය ගාස්තු සංශෝධනයේදී සැලකිල්ලට ගැනීමට සිදුවන බවද ඔහු පෙන්වා දී ඇත.

ලෝක වෙළෙඳපොළේ තෙල් මිල ඉහළ යාම හමුවේ පෙට්‍රල් සහ ඩීසල් සඳහා සහනාධාරයක් ලබා දීමට රජය සලකා බලමින් සිටියද, විදුලි උත්පාදනයට යොදා ගන්නා ඉන්ධන සම්බන්ධයෙන් එවැනි සහනයක් ලබා දීම පිළිබඳව මෙතෙක් අවසන් තීරණයක් ගෙන නොමැත.

Concerns Rise Over Potential Electricity Rate Hikes in Sri Lanka

The recent decision by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to halt fuel subsidies for electricity generation and increase fuel prices has triggered concerns about impending hikes in electricity tariffs. Reports indicate that this move poses a significant threat to electricity costs in the near future.

The CPC has raised the prices of Naphtha and Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) by approximately 20 percent, while also suspending the previously established concessionary pricing system for the electricity sector.

Mayura Neththikumara, the Managing Director of the CPC, disclosed that the price of burning oil has been increased from 210 to 248 Sri Lankan Rupees per litre, and Naphtha's price has been raised from 174 to 210 Rupees per litre.

The agreement to supply fuel at a stable price for a three-month period, which was established on April 18, 2026, has officially expired, as communicated to the National System Operator (NSO) by the CPC.

This fuel price hike is likely to directly impact the production costs of major thermal power plants, including Kelanitissa, Sapugaskanda, and Yugadanavi.

Pradeep Perera, Chairman of the National System Operator, pointed out that proposals for tariff adjustments for the October to December quarter are scheduled to be submitted to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) on September 4.

He emphasized that the rising costs, following the conclusion of government subsidies, will be taken into account during the tariff revision process.

Amid escalating oil prices in the global market, the government is considering granting subsidies for petrol and diesel; however, no final decision has been made regarding subsidy provisions for fuels used in electricity generation.
