හම්බන්තොටින් අරන් නොගිය වාහන වෙන්දේසි කරයි..

 හම්බන්තොට වරායට ආනයනය කර මාස තුනකට අධික කාලයක් මුදා නොගෙන පවතින වාහන දහසකට අධික ප්‍රමාණයක් වෙන්දේසි කිරීමට හෝ ටෙන්ඩර් මගින් විකිණීමට ශ්‍රී ලංකා රේගුව තීරණය කර තිබේ.

රේගු බදු සහ ගුදම් ගාස්තු අයකර ගැනීම මෙහි මූලික අරමුණ බව රේගු දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව පවසයි.

පසුගිය 26 වනදා පැවැති මාධ්‍ය හමුවකදී අදහස් දක්වමින් රේගු මාධ්‍ය ප්‍රකාශක චන්දන පුංචිහේවා මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, රේගු ආඥා පනතේ 109 වගන්තිය යටතේ මෙම පියවර ගන්නා බවයි.

මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදාළ ආනයනකරුවන් දැනුවත් කිරීමට දැනටමත් පියවර ගෙන ඇත. වෙන්දේසියෙන් ලැබෙන මුදලින් රේගු බදු සහ ගුදම් ගාස්තු පියවා ගැනීමෙන් පසු යම් මුදලක් ඉතිරි වුවහොත්, එම මුදල අදාළ ආනයනකරුවන් වෙත ලබා දීමට කටයුතු කරන බව ද ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය.

විනිමය අනුපාත ඉහළ යාම සහ වාහන මිල ඉහළ යාම වැනි කරුණු හේතුවෙන් වාහන ආනයනයෙන් ලැබෙන රේගු බදු ආදායම මේ මාසයේදී යම් පහත වැටීමක් පෙන්නුම් කර ඇත.

Customs Seizes Over a Thousand Vehicles Sitting Unreleased at Hambantota Port

The Sri Lanka Customs is set to auction or tender more than a thousand vehicles that have been imported and remain unclaimed at the Hambantota Port for over three months. This decision aims to address issues arising from the prolonged detention of these vehicles.

According to the Customs Department, the primary objective of releasing these vehicles for sale is to recover excise duties and warehouse fees.

Speaking at a media briefing on the 26th, Customs media spokesperson Chandana Punchihewa emphasized that this initiative is being carried out under Section 109 of the Customs Ordinance.

Steps have already been taken to inform relevant importers about this development. If any funds remain after the collection of duties and fees from the auction proceeds, arrangements will be made to return that amount to the respective importers, he added.

Recent increases in exchange rates and vehicle prices have contributed to a noticeable decline in revenue from excise duties related to vehicle imports this month.
