බියගම ප්රාදේශීය සභාවේ අගෝස්තු මාසික සභා රැස්වීමේදී විපක්ෂය නියෝජනය කරන ශ්රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණේ මන්ත්රීවරියන් දෙදෙනෙකු සිය මන්ත්රී ධුරවලින් ඉල්ලා අස්වී තිබේ.
සභාපති නීතිඥ ලාල් කුමාරපේලි මහතාගේ (ජාතික ජන බලවේගය) ප්රධානත්වයෙන් පසුගිය 06 වැනි බ්රහස්පතින්දා පැවැති සභා වාරයේදී මෙම ඉල්ලා අස්වීම් නිවේදනය කෙරිණි.
මෙලෙස ඉල්ලා අස්වී ඇත්තේ චන්ද්රාණි විජේසිරි සහ මනෝරි කබ්රාල් යන මන්ත්රීවරියන් දෙදෙනාය.
සිය ඉල්ලා අස්වීමට හේතු දක්වමින් චන්ද්රාණි විජේසිරි මහත්මිය ප්රකාශ කර ඇත්තේ සභාවේ වත්මන් කටයුතු පිළිබඳව පවතින කලකිරීම හේතුවෙන් තමන් මෙම තීරණය ගත් බවයි.
මනෝරි කබ්රාල් මහත්මිය පෞද්ගලික හේතූන් මත සිය ධුරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වන බව සභාවට දැනුම් දී තිබේ.
ඉල්ලා අස්වීමේ ලිපි භාරදෙමින් චන්ද්රාණි විජේසිරි මහත්මිය සභාව හමුවේ සිය අදහස් ද පළ කළාය.
Two Opposition Members Resign from Biagama Pradeshiya Sabha
In a surprising turn of events, two members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna representing the opposition in the Biagama Pradeshiya Sabha have tendered their resignations from their parliamentary positions during the local council's monthly meeting held on August 6.
The announcements were made under the chairmanship of Legal Advisor Lal Kumara Peliyagoda, a member of the National People's Power party. It is noteworthy that Chandraani Wijesiri and Manori Kabraal are the two members stepping down.
Chandraani Wijesiri cited confusion surrounding the current operations of the council as the primary reason for her resignation. She expressed her decision was born out of a desire for clarity and effective functioning within the local governing body.
Meanwhile, Manori Kabraal indicated that her resignation stems from personal reasons, informing the council of her decision prior to submitting the official documents.
During the meeting, Wijesiri took the opportunity to share her thoughts and concerns before officially handing in her resignation letter to the council.
