 කිරිපිටි, කල්කිරි සහ යෝගට් ඇතුළු භාණ්ඩ කිහිපයක මිල ඉහළ දමා ඇති බවට සමාජ මාධ්‍ය ඔස්සේ සංසරණය වන පුවත් සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම අසත්‍ය බව පාරිභෝගික කටයුතු පිළිබඳ අධිකාරිය නිවේදනය කරයි.

පාරිභෝගික කටයුතු පිළිබඳ අධිකාරිය නිකුත් කළ නිවේදනයට අනුව, කිරිපිටි කිලෝග්‍රෑමයක මිල රුපියල් 260කින් ද, කල්කිරි බෝතලයක මිල රුපියල් 40කින් සහ යෝගට් එකක මිල රුපියල් 20කින් ද ඉහළ දමා ඇති බවට සකස් කළ අසත්‍ය පුවත් කිහිපයක් මේ වන විට සමාජ මාධ්‍ය ජාලාවල හුවමාරු වෙමින් පවතී.

මෙවැනි තහවුරු නොකළ තොරතුරු හුවමාරු කර ගැනීමෙන් පාරිභෝගිකයන් අනවශ්‍ය ලෙස කලබලයට පත්විය හැකි බවත්, එමගින් වෙළෙඳපොළ තුළ වැරදි අවබෝධයක් ඇති විය හැකි බවත් අධිකාරිය පෙන්වා දෙයි. එබැවින්, ඕනෑම පුවතක් "Breaking News" ලෙස පළ වූ පමණින් එය සත්‍ය යැයි විශ්වාස නොකර, නිල හෝ විශ්වාසදායක මූලාශ්‍රයකින් තහවුරු කර ගැනීමෙන් තොරව ඒවා හුවමාරු කිරීමෙන් වළකින ලෙස පාරිභෝගික අධිකාරිය වැඩිදුරටත් අවධාරණය කරයි.

In light of these misleading reports, the authority is urging consumers to remain vigilant and cautious about unverified information that may lead to unnecessary panic.

According to the statement issued by the authority, false claims suggesting that the price of a kilogram of milk powder has risen by Rs. 260, bottled milk by Rs. 40, and yogurt by Rs. 20, have been widely shared on social networks.

The authority emphasizes that spreading unverified news can create unnecessary anxiety among consumers and may contribute to misunderstandings in the market. They further stress that any news presented as "Breaking News" should not be automatically assumed to be true, and consumers are encouraged to verify facts through official or credible sources before sharing.
