ඉන්ධන මිල වැඩි නොකලොත් පිරවුම්හල් 500ක් වැහෙයි..

 මෙරට ක්‍රියාත්මක විදේශීය ඉන්ධන සමාගම් සිය බෙදාහැරීමේ කටයුතු සීමා කිරීම හේතුවෙන් දිවයින පුරා පිහිටි පිරවුම්හල් 500කට ආසන්න සංඛ්‍යාවක් වැසීයාමේ දැඩි අවදානමක් මතුව ඇති බව ඛනිජ තෙල් බෙදුම්කරුවන්ගේ සංගමය අනතුරු අඟවයි.

කොළඹදී රැස්වීමක් පවත්වමින් එම සංගමයේ නියෝජිතයන් පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, ලංකා IOC, සයිනොපෙක් සහ ආර්.එම්. පාක්ස් යන සමාගම් තමන් ආනයනය කරනු ලබන ඉන්ධනවල පිරිවැයට වඩා අඩු මිලකට වෙළෙඳපොළේ අලෙවි කිරීමට සිදුවීම මත මෙලෙස බෙදාහැරීම් සීමා කර ඇති බවයි.

මේ හේතුවෙන් දෛනිකව ඇණවුම් කරන ඉන්ධන තොග නිසි පරිදි නොලැබීමෙන් පිරවුම්හල් හිමියන් මෙන්ම පාරිභෝගිකයන්ද දැඩි අසීරුතාවට පත්ව සිටිති.

ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාව සතුව සපුගස්කන්ද පිරිපහදුව පවතින බැවින් සාපේක්ෂව අඩු පිරිවැයකින් ඉන්ධන ලබාගැනීමේ හැකියාව පැවතියද, විදේශීය සමාගම් සෘජුවම නිමි ඉන්ධන ආනයනය කරන බැවින් ඔවුන්ට ඉහළ පිරිවැයක් දැරීමට සිදුව ඇති බව එම සංගමය සඳහන් කරයි.

ඉන්ධන මිල නියාමනය සඳහා ස්වාධීන ආයතනයක් ස්ථාපිත කරමින් රට තුළ ඒකාකාරී මිලක් පවත්වා ගැනීමට කඩිනමින් මැදිහත් වන ලෙස එම සංගමයේ උප සභාපති කුසුම් සඳනායක මහතා ජනාධිපතිවරයා ඇතුළු රජයෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටියේය.

Fuel Supply Crisis Looms as Foreign Oil Companies Face Distribution Restrictions

The distribution operations of foreign fuel companies in Sri Lanka are at severe risk, with the potential closure of approximately 500 filling stations across the country, warned the organization representing fuel distributors. This crisis arises from restrictions imposed on these companies, limiting their ability to distribute fuel effectively.

During a recent meeting in Colombo, representatives from various companies, including Lanka IOC, Sinopec, and RM Packs, highlighted that they are compelled to sell fuel at prices lower than their import costs, which is driving these distribution limitations.

This situation is causing significant challenges not only for filling station owners but also for consumers, who are suffering from the consistent inadequacy in daily fuel supplies.

Although the state-owned Lanka Mineral Oil Corporation offers relatively lower fuel prices, foreign firms must contend with higher operational costs since they are directly importing fuel. This circumstance further complicates their ability to maintain regular supplies, the association noted.

In light of these pressing issues, Kusum Sandanayake, the vice-chairman of the association, has urgently appealed to the government, including President Wickremesinghe, to establish an independent agency for fuel price regulation to ensure uniform pricing throughout the country.
