මහා පරිමාණ මත්ද්රව්ය ජාවාරම්කරුවකු වන ශිරාන් බාසික් සම්බන්ධයෙන් සිදුකෙරෙන විමර්ශනවලට අදාළව ප්රකාශයක් ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා දෙහිවල - ගල්කිස්ස හිටපු නගරාධිපති දනසිරි අමරතුංග මහතා අද (01) මධ්යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශය හමුවට කැඳවා තිබේ.
ඒ අනුව අද පෙරවරු එම කාර්යාංශය හමුවේ පෙනී සිටින ලෙස හිටපු නගරාධිපතිවරයාට දැනුම් දී ඇති බව වාර්තා වේ.
ශ්රී ලංකාවට මහා පරිමාණයෙන් මත්ද්රව්ය බෙදාහරින ප්රධාන පෙළේ ජාවාරම්කරුවන්ගෙන් අයෙකු ලෙස සැලකෙන ශිරාන් බාසික්, ඩුබායි රාජ්යයේදී එරට ආරක්ෂක අංශ මගින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගනු ලැබූ අතර, පසුගිය අගෝස්තු 14 වැනිදා ඔහු මෙරටට රැගෙන එනු ලැබීය.
දැනට රැඳවුම් නියෝග මත මධ්යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශය භාරයේ පසුවන සැකකරුගෙන් සිදුකළ දීර්ඝ ප්රශ්න කිරීම්වලදී අනාවරණය වූ කරුණු මත පදනම්ව, හිටපු නගරාධිපතිවරයාගෙන් මෙලෙස ප්රකාශයක් ලබා ගැනීමට තීරණය කර ඇති බව පොලිස් ආරංචි මාර්ග සඳහන් කරයි.
මධ්යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශයේ (CCIB) භාර ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ නියෝජ්ය පොලිස්පති රන්මල් කොඩිතුවක්කු මහතාගේ සෘජු අධීක්ෂණය යටතේ මෙම විමර්ශන කටයුතු ඉදිරියට ක්රියාත්මක වේ.
Former Colombo Mayor Subpoenaed in Drug Trafficking Investigation
In a significant move in the ongoing investigations into a major drug trafficking ring, former Colombo Mayor Danasiri Amarathunga has been summoned to the Central Criminal Investigation Department (CCID) today, October 1, to provide a statement regarding Shiran Basik, a key suspect.
Reports indicate that the CCID has informed Amarathunga to appear this morning for questioning as part of their inquiry.
Shiran Basik, recognized as one of the leading traffickers responsible for distributing substantial quantities of narcotics in Sri Lanka, was recently apprehended by security forces in Dubai. He was returned to the country on August 14.
Authorities have decided to question the former mayor based on revelations obtained during extensive interrogations of Basik, who is currently in custody under detention orders, as per police sources.
These investigations are being conducted under the direct supervision of Senior Deputy Inspector General Ranmal Kodithuwakku of the CCID.
