ශ්රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණය ලබාදුන් නියෝගයකට අනුකූලව වහාම ක්රියාත්මක වන පරිදි ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ පොලිස් අධිකාරීවරුන් තිදෙනෙකු ඔවුන් දැරූ තනතුරුවලින් ඉවත් කර පොලිස් මූලස්ථානය වෙත කැඳවීමට පොලිස්පති ප්රියන්ත වීරසූරිය මහතා පියවර ගෙන තිබේ.
මෙලෙස ධුරවලින් ඉවත් කර විශේෂ රාජකාරි පදනම මත පොලිස් මූලස්ථානය වෙත කැඳවා ඇත්තේ, බණ්ඩාරවෙල කොට්ඨාසය භාරව කටයුතු කළ මයුර පෙරේරා, අධිවේගී මාර්ග කොට්ඨාසය භාරව සිටි ඒ. ජේ. වයි. බී. ක්රිශාන්ත සහ පොලිස් දුක්ගැනවිලි කොට්ඨාසයේ අධ්යක්ෂ ධුරය හෙබවූ පී. ජී. එස්. ගුණතිලක යන ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ පොලිස් අධිකාරීවරුන් තිදෙනාය.
පොලිස්පතිවරයාගේ උපදෙස් මත මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් වන විශේෂ පොලිස් පණිවිඩය පෙරේදා (17) නිකුත් කර ඇති බව පොලිස් මූලස්ථාන ආරංචි මාර්ග තහවුරු කරයි.
මීට වසර 15කට පමණ පෙර ප්රධාන පොලිස් පරීක්ෂකවරුන් ලෙස සේවය කරමින් සිටියදී අමාත්ය මණ්ඩල තීරණයක් මත මෙම නිලධාරීන් සහකාර පොලිස් අධිකාරී ධුරවලට උසස් කර තිබිණි.
කෙසේ වෙතත්, පොලිස් කොමිසම මඟින් සිදු කරන ලද එම උසස් කිරීම් තුළින් මූලික අයිතිවාසිකම් කඩවීමක් සිදුව ඇති බවට තීන්දු කළ ශ්රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණය, පසුව ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ පොලිස් අධිකාරී ධුර දක්වා උසස්වීම් ලැබූ මෙම නිලධාරීන් තිදෙනාගේ අදාළ උසස්වීම් බලශූන්ය කරන ලෙස පසුගියදා නියෝග කර තිබිණි.
එම ශ්රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණ නියෝගය ක්රියාත්මක කරමින් පොලිස්පතිවරයා විසින් මොවුන් වහාම ක්රියාත්මක වන පරිදි මෙලෙස ධුරවලින් ඉවත් කර ඇත.
Three Senior Police Officers Recalled to Headquarters Following Supreme Court Directive
In a significant move executed swiftly by the Inspector General of Police, Priyantha Weerasuriya, three senior officers have been reassigned to police headquarters in compliance with a directive issued by the Supreme Court.
The officers affected by this decision include Mayura Perera, who was overseeing the Bandaragama division, A.J.W.B. Krishantha, previously in charge of the expressways division, and P.G.S. Gunatilaka, who served as the director of police public relations.
According to sources at police headquarters, a specific police announcement regarding this situation was released on the 17th. This comes after a review highlighted concerns over procedural violations in their previous promotions.
Approximately 15 years ago, these officers were elevated from the rank of Chief Inspectors to their respective positions as Deputy Superintendent of Police following a cabinet decision. However, the Supreme Court ruled that these promotions had infringed upon fundamental rights, prompting a re-evaluation of their recent advancements.
In light of this ruling, the Inspector General has acted promptly to enforce the Supreme Court's order, removing the officers from their posts effective immediately.
