විදෙස් සමාගම්වල ඉන්ධන මිල අර්බුදය රාජ්‍යතාන්ත්‍රික ගැටලුවක් වෙයි.. ඩීසල් සැපයුම අත්හිටුවයි.. පෙට්‍රල් සීමා කරයි..

 මෙරට තුළ ඉන්ධන බෙදාහරින විදේශීය සමාගම් විසින් ඉන්ධන මිල ඉහළ දැමීමට කර ඇති ඉල්ලීමට බලශක්ති අමාත්‍යාංශයෙන් මෙතෙක් සාධනීය ප්‍රතිචාරයක් නොලැබීම හේතුවෙන් උද්ගතව ඇති තත්ත්වය රාජ්‍යතාන්ත්‍රික ගැටලුවක් දක්වා වර්ධනය වෙමින් පවතින බව වාර්තා වේ.

ඉන්දියාවේ ප්‍රධාන ඉන්ධන සමාගමක ශාඛාවක් වන ලංකා ඉන්දියන් ඔයිල් සමාගම (LIOC), චීනයේ සයිනොපෙක් (Sinopec) සමාගම සහ ඇමෙරිකාවේ ආර්. එම්. පාර්ක්ස් (RM Parks) යන සමාගම් මීට සති දෙකකට පමණ පෙර ඩීසල් මිල ඉහළ දමන ලෙස බලශක්ති අමාත්‍යාංශයෙන් ඉල්ලීමක් කර තිබිණි.

ඩීසල් ලීටරයකින් රුපියල් 170ක පමණ පාඩුවක් ලබන බව පෙන්වා දෙමින් ඔවුන් මෙම ඉල්ලීම කර ඇති අතර, ඊට නිසි විසඳුමක් නොලැබීම හේතුවෙන් එම සමාගම් මේ වන විට මෙරටට ඩීසල් සැපයීම මුළුමනින්ම අත්හිටුවා පෙට්‍රල් සැපයුම ද සීමා කර ඇත.

මේ අතර, උද්ගතව ඇති තත්ත්වය සම්බන්ධයෙන් ඉන්දියන් ඔයිල් සමාගම සහ සයිනොපෙක් සමාගම සිය රටවල කොළඹ පිහිටි තානාපති කාර්යාල දැනුවත් කිරීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇති බවත්, අදාළ තානාපති කාර්යාල මේ පිළිබඳව ශ්‍රී ලංකා රජයෙන් කරුණු විමසීමට සූදානම් වන බවත් වාර්තා වේ.

මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දැක්වූ බලශක්ති අමාත්‍ය අනුර කරුණාතිලක මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කළේ, අදාළ ගැටලුව සඳහා කඩිනම් විසඳුමක් ලබාදීමට සාකච්ඡා කරමින් සිටින බවයි.

ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාවේ කළමනාකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂ ආචාර්ය මයුර නෙත්තිකුමාර මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, ඉන්ධන මිල ඉහළ දැමීමට මෙතෙක් කිසිදු තීරණයක් ගෙන නොමැති වුවද, විදේශ සමාගම්වල ඉල්ලීම පිළිබඳව අමාත්‍යාංශය අවධානය යොමු කර ඇති බවයි.

විදේශීය ඉන්ධන සමාගම් ඩීසල් සැපයුම නතර කර පෙට්‍රල් සැපයුම සීමා කර ඇති බව ඛනිජ තෙල් බෙදුම්කරුවන්ගේ සංගමයේ සම ලේකම් කපිල නාඔටුන්න මහතා ද තහවුරු කළේය.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාව අඛණ්ඩව ඩීසල් බෙදාහැරීමේ කටයුතු සිදු කරන බැවින් කොළඹ සහ ඒ අවට ප්‍රදේශවල ඩීසල් හිඟයක් මෙතෙක් නිර්මාණය වී නොමැත.

නමුත් ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථා පිරවුම්හල් නොමැති ඇතැම් දුරබැහැර ප්‍රදේශවල ජනතාවට ඉන්ධන ලබාගැනීම සඳහා කිලෝමීටර් ගණනාවක් දුර ගමන් කිරීමට සිදුව ඇති බව ඉන්ධන පිරවුම්හල් හිමියෝ පෙන්වා දෙති.

Fuel Supply Disruption Threatens Sri Lanka Amid High Price Demands from Foreign Companies

The Sri Lankan energy sector is grappling with a significant crisis as requests from foreign companies to raise fuel prices go unanswered by the Ministry of Power and Energy, escalating the situation into a state of administrative turmoil.

Among the companies pushing for a price hike are Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC), a branch of a major Indian petroleum firm, China's Sinopec, and the American firm RM Parks. Approximately two weeks ago, these companies formally requested that the Ministry consider raising the diesel price.

Highlighting a loss of around Rs. 170 per litre of diesel, these firms have suspended their diesel supplies altogether and are also limiting petrol deliveries, citing a lack of adequate solutions to their financial predicament.

In light of the unfolding situation, LIOC and Sinopec have informed their respective embassies in Colombo about the dire circumstances, which are reportedly on standby to engage with the Sri Lankan government for clarification.

Addressing the matter, Minister of Power and Energy Anura Yapa Karunatilake indicated that discussions are ongoing to swiftly resolve the issue at hand.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mayura Neththikumara, the managing director of the Lanka Minerals and Chemicals Corporation, noted that while no formal decision has yet been made regarding the fuel price increase, the ministry is actively monitoring the requests from foreign companies.

Kapila Naotunna, the secretary of the petroleum distribution agents' association, confirmed that fuel companies have halted diesel supplies and limited petrol deliveries.

Despite these disruptions, the Lanka Minerals and Chemicals Corporation continues to distribute diesel, preventing shortages in urban and suburban Colombo areas. However, residents in more remote regions are finding it increasingly challenging to access fuel, often having to travel considerable distances to secured fill-up stations.
