නොරොච්චෝල බලාගාරයට අවශ්‍ය ගල් අඟුරු සංචිත සීමිත වීම හේතුවෙන් එමගින් සිදුකරන විදුලි නිෂ්පාදනය තාවකාලිකව අඩු කර ඇති නමුත්, පද්ධතියට අවශ්‍ය විදුලිය ජල විදුලි බලාගාර මගින් ප්‍රමාණවත් පරිදි උත්පාදනය කරන බැවින් විදුලි කප්පාදුවක් සිදු කිරීමේ අවශ්‍යතාවක් පැන නොනගින බව බලශක්ති අමාත්‍යාංශය අවධාරණය කරයි.

බලශක්ති අමාත්‍ය අනුර කරුණාතිලක මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, පවතින ගල් අඟුරු සංචිත කළමනාකරණය කර ගැනීම සඳහා නොරොච්චෝල බලාගාරයේ ජනන කටයුතු සීමා කිරීමට පියවර ගත් බවයි.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, ඉදිරි දින කිහිපය තුළ ගල් අඟුරු නෞකා දෙකක් දිවයිනට පැමිණීමට නියමිතව ඇත. ඒ අනුව පළමු නෞකාව හෙට (04) දිනයේත්, දෙවන නෞකාව ලබන 12 වන දිනත් දිවයිනට ළඟා වීමට නියමිතය.

එම නෞකාවලින් ගල් අඟුරු ගොඩබෑමෙන් අනතුරුව විදුලි උත්පාදන කටයුතු යළි යථා තත්ත්වයට පත් කරන බව අමාත්‍යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය.

විදුලි සැපයුම සම්බන්ධයෙන් ජනතාව අනියත බියක් ඇති කරගත යුතු නැති බවත්, පවතින තත්ත්වය මත විදුලි කප්පාදුවක් සිදු කිරීමට රජය කිසිදු තීරණයක් ගෙන නොමැති බවත් අමාත්‍යවරයා අවධාරණය කළේය.

Electricity Production Temporarily Reduced at Norochcholai Due to Limited Coal Supplies

The Ministry of Power has announced a temporary reduction in electricity production at the Norochcholai power plant due to limited stocks of thermal coal. However, the ministry emphasized that the necessary electricity supply is being adequately generated through hydroelectric power plants, alleviating the need for any power cuts.

Energy Minister Anura Yapa Karunatilaka revealed that measures have been taken to limit operational activities at the Norochcholai plant to manage the existing coal reserves effectively.

In a positive development, two coal shipments are set to arrive in the country in the coming days. The first vessel is expected to dock tomorrow, while the second is scheduled to arrive on the 12th of the month.

The minister further indicated that following the unloading of coal from these ships, electricity production operations would return to normal.

Karunatilaka reassured the public that there is no need to panic regarding electricity supply. He stressed that, based on the current situation, the government has made no decisions concerning power cuts.
