ශ්‍රී ලංකන් ගුවන් සමාගමට ‘එයාර්බස්’ වර්ගයේ ගුවන් යානා මිලදී ගැනීමේදී සිදුවූ බව කියන මූල්‍ය අක්‍රමිකතා සහ මුදල් විශුද්ධිකරණ සිද්ධියකට අදාළව අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව මගින් සැකකරුවෙකු ලෙස නම් කර අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කළ පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා ලබන සැප්තැම්බර් 23 වනදා දක්වා රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාරගත කිරීමට කොළඹ කොටුව මහේස්ත්‍රාත් පසන් අමරසේන මහතා අද නියෝග කළේය.

ඉදිරිපත් වූ සියලු කරුණු සලකා බැලූ මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා, සැකකරුගේ ඇප ඉල්ලීම පිළිබඳ නියෝගය සැප්තැම්බර් 23 වනදා ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කරන බව දන්වමින් එදින දක්වා ඔහු රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාරගත කරන ලෙස නියෝග කළේය.

නඩු විභාගය අතරතුර කරුණු දැක්වූ විමර්ශන නිලධාරීන් සඳහන් කළේ, ගුවන් යානා මිලදී ගැනීමේදී සිදු වූ බව පැවසෙන අල්ලස් සිද්ධියක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් ශ්‍රීලංකන් ගුවන් සමාගමේ හිටපු ප්‍රධාන විධායක නිලධාරී කපිල චන්ද්‍රසේන සහ ඔහුගේ බිරිඳට එරෙහිව කොටුව මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණයේ විභාග වන නඩුවේ සිව්වන සැකකරු ලෙස පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා නම් කිරීමට පසුගිය සැප්තැම්බර් 11 වනදා පියවර ගත් බවයි.

එමෙන්ම, මෙම එයාර්බස් ගනුදෙනුව සම්බන්ධයෙන්ම අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ චෝදනා විමර්ශන කොමිෂන් සභාව මගින් සිදුකරන වෙනත් විමර්ශනයකට අදාළව, කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා විසින් නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා මේ වන විටත් රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාරගත කර ඇති බව අද දින නඩුව කැඳවූ අවස්ථාවේදී අධිකරණය හමුවේ වැඩිදුරටත් කරුණු දක්වමින් අනාවරණය කෙරිණි.

Nam al Rajapaksa Remanded in Custody Amid Corruption Investigation

The Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court has ordered the remanding of Member of Parliament Nam al Rajapaksa until September 23, as part of an investigation into alleged financial irregularities surrounding the purchase of Airbus aircraft by SriLankan Airlines. The directive was issued by Magistrate Pasan Amarasekara today.

After considering all presented facts, the magistrate announced that a decision regarding the suspect's bail application will be declared on the specified date, emphasizing the necessity for him to remain in custody until then.

Investigating officers revealed during the proceedings that Rajapaksa has been identified as the fourth suspect in a corruption case linked to the alleged bribery involving the aircraft purchase, which includes former CEO Kapila Chandrasena of SriLankan Airlines and his wife. This development follows the court's decision on September 11 to designate Rajapaksa as a suspect.

Furthermore, it was disclosed in court today that Rajapaksa is already remanded in custody concerning a separate inquiry by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption linked to the Airbus deal. Additional information highlighting the gravity of the investigation was brought to light during the court session.
