The young athlete claimed the coveted 'Diamond Trophy' by performing exceptionally at the javelin throw event, marking a significant milestone for Sri Lankan athletics.

This landmark victory took place in the heart of Brussels, Belgium, during the highly anticipated final event. Rumesha Tharanga delivered an impressive throw, recording a distance of 89.04 meters, solidifying his historic win.

Throughout the competition, Tharanga showcased outstanding performance, elevating himself above a field of elite international athletes to secure this honour. His determination and skill stood out, making his victory even more commendable.
