අමාත්ය අනුර කරුණාතිලක මහතාගේ අත්සනින් යුතුව නිකුත් කරන ලද ලිපියක් මගින් මෙම තීරණය දැනුම් දී ඇති අතර, ඒ අනුව හේමචන්ද්ර මහතාට සිය තනතුරෙන් වහාම ඉවත් වන ලෙස දන්වා ඇත.
වත්මන් ජාතික ජන බලවේගය රජය බලයට පත්වීමෙන් පසු වරාය අමාත්ය විජිත හේරත් මහතා විසින් ගණක හේමචන්ද්ර මහතා මෙම තනතුර සඳහා පත් කරන ලදී.
කෙසේ වෙතත්, ඔහුට එරෙහිව වරාය වෘත්තීය සමිති රැසක් විසින් බරපතළ චෝදනා රැසක් එල්ල කර තිබුණි. විශේෂයෙන්ම ත්රිකුණාමලය වරායේ තිබූ නියමු යාත්රාවක් අක්රමවත් ලෙස භාවිත කරමින් රුපියල් කෝටි 20කට අධික මූල්ය පාඩුවක් රජයට සිදු කළ බවට ඔහුට එරෙහිව චෝදනාවක් එල්ල විය.
Director of Port Authority Dismissed Amid Serious Allegations
The government has swiftly moved to remove Ganaka Hemachandra from his position as the executive director of the Port Authority. This decision comes as a direct result of significant accusations leveled against him by various port trade unions.
In a letter issued under the signature of Minister Anura Karunatilaka, Hemachandra has been instructed to vacate his post immediately.
Hemachandra was appointed to this role by the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Wijitha Herath, following the rise of the National People’s Power government.
However, he has faced serious allegations, including claims of causing over 200 million rupees in financial losses to the government through the illicit operation of a permanent vessel at the Trincomalee port.
