In a shocking revelation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused U.S. President Donald Trump of taking steps to facilitate Ukraine’s subjugation under Russian conditions, effectively bringing an unfortunate end to the ongoing war with Russia. This assertion was reported by the New York Times amid heightened tensions surrounding the conflict.
During a specialized discussion with Bloomberg, Zelensky articulated concerns that Washington has initiated a series of actions aimed at ensuring Ukraine's capitulation. He expressed disbelief that the U.S. genuinely desires a swift conclusion to the war, stating, “I would like to believe that Washington does not wish for Ukraine to be sacrificed, but it is now evident that this is indeed happening.”
The relationship between Zelensky and Trump has reportedly deteriorated to unprecedented levels, accompanied by a series of sharp exchanges between the two parties.
Zelensky reminded that Trump holds a longstanding fascination with autocrats, drawing a parallel with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In a concerning response, Trump suggested that the Ukrainian populace should force Zelensky out of office, further remarking on the President’s alleged unwillingness to end the conflict.
Compounding the crisis, Russia's decision to purchase diesel fuel, targeting the upcoming U.S. elections, has emerged as a key reason for the ongoing tensions between the two nations. This move threatens to divert billions of dollars into the Russian economy while simultaneously prompting calls from the White House for Kyiv to halt drone strikes targeting Russian oil refineries.
Furthermore, the Kremlin has announced plans for a trilateral discussion involving Russian President Putin, Chinese leader Xi Jinping, and Donald Trump. Ukraine has raised alarms, suspecting that this dialogue could pave the way for an unfair peace agreement imposed on the country.
Ukraine has leveled accusations against Washington for allegedly restricting U.S. access to crucial military intelligence regarding Russian ballistic missile attacks. Recent missile strikes resulted in 16 Russian ballistic missiles and 270 drones hitting the Ukrainian capital without prior warning, attributed by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to a software glitch in the early warning system.
