මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය වැටලීමක් සිදුකර සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනෙකු අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන රැගෙන එමින් සිටි තෙල්දෙණිය මූලස්ථාන ප්‍රධාන පොලිස් පරීක්ෂකවරයා ඇතුළු පොලිස් කණ්ඩායමක් ගමන් ගත් නිල රථයට මාර්ගය අසල ලඳු කැලෑවක සැඟවී සිටි පිරිසක් එල්ල කළ ගල් ප්‍රහාරයකින් එම රථයට හානි සිදුව ඇතැයි පොලීසිය පවසයි.
ඊයේ රාත්‍රී කාලයේදී අඹකොටේ ප්‍රදේශයේදී මෙම සිදුවීම සිදුව තිබේ.

අනතුරුව එම සැකකරුවන් පොලිස් ජීප් රථයට නංවාගෙන නැවත පොලිස් ස්ථානය බලා ධාවනය කරමින් සිටියදී, මාර්ගය අයිනේ වූ ලඳු කැලෑවක රැකසිටි පිරිසක් ක්ෂණිකව මෙම ප්‍රහාරය එල්ල කර තිබේ.
ගල් ප්‍රහාරය හේතුවෙන් පොලිස් ජීප් රථයට අලාභහානි සිදුව ඇති අතර, පොලිස් නිලධාරීන්ට හෝ අත්අඩංගුවේ සිටි සැකකරුවන්ට බරපතළ තුවාල සිදුව නොමැති බව වාර්තා වේ.

අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරුවන් අධිකරණය හමුවට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිත අතර, ප්‍රහාරයට සම්බන්ධ සෙසු පුද්ගලයන් සොයා තෙල්දෙණිය පොලීසිය පුළුල් විමර්ශනයක් අරඹා තිබේ.
Police Vehicle Attacked During Drug Bust Operation
In a dramatic turn of events, a police vehicle carrying two drug trafficking suspects was targeted in a stone attack by a group hiding in the bushes along the roadside. This incident occurred last night in the Ambakotte area, according to police reports.
The operation was led by Chief Inspector Chandrapala from the Taldeniya Division, along with a team of senior police officials, resulting in the apprehension of two individuals linked to drug trafficking.
As the police jeep was transporting the suspects back to the station, a group of assailants ambushed the vehicle from concealed positions in the dense foliage. The stone barrage inflicted damage to the police unit, although fortunately, it did not result in serious injuries to either the police officers or the detained suspects.
Following the attack, police personnel managed to round up two individuals suspected of being directly involved in the assault at the scene.
The arrested suspects are set to be presented in court, while the Taldeniya police have initiated a thorough investigation to locate any additional individuals connected to the attack.
