ඒ අනුව කාණ්ඩ 4ක් යටතේ ක්රීඩකයන් 105 දෙනෙකු තෝරාගෙන පසුගිය අප්රේල් මස සිට මාසිකව රු. 210000, 110000ක් බැගින් ලබා දෙන බවද ඔහු පෙන්වා දෙයි.
පාලම් බෝක්කු හදන ආකාරයට ක්රීඩකයන් තැනිය නොහැකි බවත් ඒ සඳහා දිගුකාලීන සැලසුමක් අවශ්ය බවත් ඇමතිවරයා ප්රකාශ කරයි.
අප වැනිම ආර්ථිකයක් ඇති කියුබාව ඔලිම්පික් රන් පදක්කම් 18ක් ඇතුළු පදක්කම් 244ක් දිනාඇති නමුත් ලංකාව දිනා ඇත්තේ රිදී පදක්කම් දෙකක් පමණක් බවත් සුනිල් කුමාර ගමගේ සඳහන් කරයි.
ඔලිම්පික් පදක්කමක් දිනනවා වගේ බරපතල දේවල් කරන්න ඔය නඩයට කැපෑසිටියක් නෑ.

My brother, the former Director General for Education in Sports, introduced the National Schools All-Island Competition in 1984, under the guidance of then Education Minister Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe , with the aim of elevating Sri Lankan athletics to a higher level. Prior to this, Sri Lankan schools had only one competition, the "Public Schools Athletics Meet", which was limited to elite schools and Central Colleges, competing for the "Tarbet Cup". The National Schools All Island Competition provided opportunities to tap into raw talent in villages, resulting in the development of athletes such as Susanthika, Damayanthi Darsha, Sriyani Kulawansa and Sugath Thilekaratne. After a decade, these athletes were competing at the highest level, winning at the Asian Games, World Athletics, and eventually securing a Silver medal at the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
