ජනාධිපති ලේකම් කාර්යාලය නමින් මෝටර් රථ ප්රවාහන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ලියාපදිංචි කර ඇති වාහන 26ක භෞතික පැවැත්ම මෙතෙක් තහවුරු කර ගැනීමට නොහැකි වී ඇති බව ජාතික විගණන කාර්යාලය අනාවරණය කරයි.
මෙම වාහන අතුරුදන් වීම හෝ ඒවා කිසියම් ආයතනයකට හෝ පුද්ගලයෙකුට භාරදීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් කිසිදු ලිඛිත සාක්ෂියක් විගණන අංශ වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට බලධාරීන් අපොහොසත් වී ඇත.
අදාළ වාහන 26 සොයා ගැනීම සහ ඒවායේ වර්තමාන තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව මගින් මේ වන විට විශේෂ විමර්ශනයක් ආරම්භ කර ඇති බව වාර්තා වේ.
ජනාධිපති ලේකම් කාර්යාලය විසින් 2025 මැයි මස 28 වන දින විගණන අංශ වෙත දැනුම් දී ඇත්තේ මෙම වාහන සම්බන්ධයෙන් අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව පරීක්ෂණ පවත්වන බවයි.
කෙසේ වෙතත්, මෙම වසරේ මාර්තු මස 19 වන දින වන විටත් එම වාහනවල භෞතික පැවැත්ම තහවුරු කර ගැනීමට නොහැකි වී ඇති බව විගණන වාර්තාව වැඩිදුරටත් පෙන්වා දෙයි.
National Audit Office Confirms Mystery Over 26 Missing State Vehicles
The National Audit Office has revealed that the physical existence of 26 vehicles registered under the Motor Vehicle Department at the President's Secretary's office has yet to be verified.
No written evidence has been submitted to the Audit Department regarding the potential disappearance of these vehicles or their transfer to any individual or organization by the authorities.
It has been reported that a special investigation is currently underway by the Criminal Investigation Department to locate these vehicles and assess their current condition.
On May 28, 2025, the President's Secretary's office informed the Audit Department that the Criminal Investigation Department was conducting inquiries into these vehicles.
However, the audit report further indicates that as of March 19 of this year, the physical presence of these vehicles has still not been confirmed.
