අපි බලයට ඇවිත් ආණ්ඩුවෙන් තේ පොහොර මෙට්‍රික් ටොන් විසි එක්දාස් පන්සීයක් දුන්නා...

වත්මන් රජය බලයට පැමිණ QR කේතය මගින් කුඩා තේ වතු ගොවීන් එක්ලක්ෂ අනූ එක දාහකට පොහොර මෙට්‍රික් ටොන් විසි එක්දාස් පන්සීයක් දුන් බව වැවිලි සහ ප්‍රජායටිතල පහසුකම් අමාත්‍ය සමන්ත විද්‍යාරත්න මහතා පැවසීය.

අමාත්‍යවරයා ඒ බැව් කියා සිටියේ (15) දින කොත්මලේ, හල්ගොල්ලගම, හපුගස්තලාව, වැව්තාවුල්ල ප්‍රදේශයේදි පැවති ‘දල්ලෙන් දළුලන රටක්’ යන තේමාව යටතේ කුඩා තේ වතු හිමියන් නගා සිටුවීම සදහා මෙරට තුල පොකුරු ගම්මාන 500ක් ආරම්භ කිරිමේ වැඩසටහනේ සමාරම්භක උත්සවයට සහභාගි වෙමිනි.

මෙහිදි වැඩි දුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ අමාත්‍යවරයා කියා සිටියේ, “අපි දන්නවා දැන් අපේ රටේ කුඩා තේ වතු ගත්තම මේ තේ වතු වලට අවශය හොදම පෝෂණය ලැබිලා නැ සමහර ඒවාට. ඒ නිසා අපි අමාත්‍යාංශය ගත්ත වෙලාවේ තීන්දු කරා, ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර සහෝදරයත් කිව්වා, අපනයන ආර්ථිකය දියුණු කරන්න නම් කුඩා තේ වතු හිමියන්ට ශක්තියක් වෙන්න පොහොර ටික විධිමත් විදිහට දෙන්න කියලා.

අපි එන්න කලින් පොහොර දීපු අවස්ථාත් තියනවා. පොහොර තහනම් කරපු අවස්ථාත් තියනවා. ඒ නිසා අපේ තේ විතරක් නෙවෙයි, අපේ කෘෂිකර්මාන්තයත් දැඩි බිද වැටීමකට ලක් වුණා. ඒවා තාම සම්පුර්ණ වෙලා නැ. අපේ දරුවන්ට අවුරුදු 5-6ක් හොදට කන්න දෙන්න බැරුව, ඊට පස්සේ හොදට කන්න දුන්නා කියලා අර මගෑරුන කොටස ආය කන්න දෙන්න බෑ. ඒ වගේ මේ තේ ගහකට, තේ පදුරකට අවුරුදු ගානක් සලකන්නේ නැත්නම්, පොල් පැලයකට අවශ්‍ය පෝෂණය දෙන්නෙ නැත්නම්, ඇතිවන බිදවැටීම, දුර්වල වීම, අසනීප වීම අස්වැන්නට බලපානවා. ඒ නිසා පහුගිය ආණ්ඩු සමයන්වල අපේ රටේ කෘෂිකර්මාන්තයට අනෙකුත් කර්මාන්තවලට ඒ දේවල් සිද්ධ වුණා.

නමුත් අපි බලයට ඇවිල්ලා, ලංකා ඉතිහාසයේ පළවෙනි වතාවට QR කේතයක් මගින් කුඩා තේ වතු හිමියන්ට පොහොර ලබා දෙන්න තිරණය කලා. 2024 අපි එන්න ඉස්සල්ලා, අතින් සල්ලි එක්අහු කරලා තමයි පොහොර දිලා තිබුණේ. කුඩා තේ වතු ගොවීන් 84000කට දීලා තිබුණා. පොහොර මෙට්‍රික් ටොන් 13000ක් දිලා තිබුණා.

අපි QR කේතය හඳුන්වලා දීලා එක්ලක්ෂ අනූ එක දාහකට කුඩා තේ වතු ගොවීන්ට පොහොර දුන්නා. පොහොර මෙට්‍රික් ටොන් විසි එක්දාස් පන්සීයක් දුන්නා. දැන් අරාබි කරේ යුද තත්ත්වයක් ආවම ජනාධිපතිතුමා අපි ඉල්ලන්න ඉස්සෙල්ලා කිව්වා කුඩා තේ වතු හිමියන්ට තව අතිරේක පොහොර සහනාධාරයක් මේ පොහොර මිටි ටිකක් උඩට යන නිසා මේ සැරේ ලබාදෙමු කියල. ඒ අනුව භාණ්ඩාගාරයෙන් අපිට මිලියන 2500ක් හම්බුනා.

දැන් ඒ මිලියන 2500 අපි බෙදා හරින්න සූදානම්. සෑම කුඩා තේ වතු ගොවියෙකුටම QR කේතය තියෙන අයට අපි ඒ මිලියන 2500 නැවත වටයක් පොහොර දාන්න ඔබට මුදල් හැටියට දෙනවා. අපි ඉදිරියටත් මේ ගම්මාන පන්සියත් එක්ක තව ශක්තිමත් කරනවා. මේ ගහේ පෝෂණය වැඩි කරන්න අවශ්‍ය දැනුම, මගපෙන්වීම, ආධාරය අමාත්‍යංශයෙන් දෙන්න සැලසුම් කරලා තියෙනවා.

ඒ වගේම දැන් මේ අක්කරේකින් සාමාන්‍යෙයන් කුඩා තේ වතු ගොවීන් සමස්තයක් හැටියට ගත්තම මාසෙට ගන්න දළු ප්‍රමාණය, ඒක බොහොම අඩු ප්‍රමාණයක්. සමහර වෙලාවට අක්කරේකින් කිලෝ 200, 250, 300ක් වගේ තමයි යන්නේ. ඒක ප්‍රමාණවත් නෑ.

අපේ කුඩා තේ වතු හිමියගෙ තියන දුක් ගැනවිල්ලක් තමයි, දලු මිල අඩුයි කියන එක. දලු වලට හොද මිල්ක් ලබා දෙන්න නම්, අපේ රටේ තේ කිලෝ එකක් අලෙවි වන මිල වැඩි වෙන්න ඕනි. අලෙවි වන මිල වැඩි වෙන්න නම් හොද ගුණාත්මක තේ නිෂ්පාදනය වෙන්න ඕනි. ඒ වගේ ප්‍රමිති ගත තේ නිෂ්පාදනය වෙන්න නම්, මේ ගහටත් හොදට සලකලා, දල්ලත් හොද ප්‍රමිති ගත දල්ලක් කඩලා දෙන්න ඕනි”. යනුවෙන් පැවසීය.

Government Initiates Fertilizer Distribution for Small Tea Farmers

The current administration has taken significant steps to support small tea farmers by introducing a new QR code system that facilitates the distribution of fertilizers. Over 100,000 smallholders are set to benefit from this initiative, receiving a total of 21 metric tons of fertilizer.

Minister of Plantation Industries, Samantha Vidyarathna, made the announcement during a gathering held on the 15th in several regions including Kotmale, Halugollagama, Hapugastala, and Wattaula, as part of the 'Killing the Bad Country' theme program, which aims to uplift small tea growers across the nation.

In his address, the Minister emphasized the necessity of providing high-quality nutrients to tea plants, acknowledging the inadequate nourishment that many small farms have received. He noted the government's commitment to ensure smallholders are empowered, especially under President Anura Kumara Dissanayake's directive to enhance the export economy.

He highlighted the importance of systematic fertilizer allocation for these tea farms, mentioning previous instances where fertilizer distribution was either restricted or denied. These historical challenges have led to a significant decline in the agricultural sector and the sustainability of small-scale tea farming.

Now, with the government's new QR code initiative, farmers can easily access the necessary fertilizers required for optimal growth and productivity. By next year, we expect that approximately 84,000 farmers will participate, with a total distribution of 13,000 metric tons of fertilizers planned.

Each smallholder is set to receive direct financial assistance or fertilizers, which will be distributed wisely to help mitigate the adverse effects of past governmental policies that limited agricultural resources. With an anticipated allocation of 2.5 million liters of fertilizer from national reserves, the government aims to make a marked improvement in the tea production sector.

The Minister concluded by stressing that for the tea industry to thrive, farmers need assurance that they will receive appropriate compensation for their produce, which hinges on the quality and standards of tea production. This approach will not only enhance the market value of Sri Lankan tea but also promote sustainable and profitable farming practices for smallholders.
