විජිත හේරත් අගමැතිකමට...?

 විදේශ කටයුතු අමාත්‍ය විජිත හේරත් මහතා අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය ධුරයට පත්වනු ඇති බවට දේශපාලන කවයන්හි සාකච්ඡා වෙමින් ඇති බවට සති අන්ත 'අරුණ' පුවත්පත වාර්තා කර තිබේ.

මෙහිදී හිටපු ක්‍රීඩා ඇමැතිවරයකු වන රොෂාන් රණසිංහ, ක්‍රීඩා ඇමැති ධුරයෙන් ඉවත් කිරීම ගැන කතා බහක් ඇති විය. 

එකල ජනාධිපතිවරයා වූයේ රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහය ‘‘මම ඒකට උත්තර දෙන්නම්. මම ඇඟිලි ගහන්න ගියේ නැහැ. මගෙත් එක්ක ක්‍රීඩාවට අදාළ දේවල් කතා කළේ නැහැ. නෝනා හැම දෙයකටම ඇඟිලි ගැහුවා‘’’ හිටපු ජනාධිපතිවරයාගේ පිළිතුර විය. 

මෙම කතාබහ කරන විට විදේශ ඇමැති විජිත හේරත් පැමිණි අතර අසුන් ගත්තේ හිටපු ජනාධිපති රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහ ළඟය. 

එම මේසයේ සිටි මාධ්‍යවේදියෙක් විදේශ ඇමැතිවරයාගෙන් ඇසුවේ ‘‘ඔයා ලබන අවුරුද්දෙ අගමැති වෙනවා කියලා ආරංචියි.’’ යනුවෙනි. 

‘‘ඇයි ලබන අවුරුදදෙ මේ අවුරුද්දෙම පුළුවන්’’ ඇමැතිවරයාගේ පිළිතුරු දුන්නේ සිනහසෙමිනි. 

කෙසේ වෙතත් හිටපු ජනාධිපතිවරයා හා විදේශ කටයුතු ඇමැතිවරයා වැඩි කාලයක් සතරකන්මන්ත්‍රණයක නිරත වූහ.

ඇමරිකා එක්සත් ජනපද තානාපති කාර්යාලය සිය 250 වන ජාතික දින උත්සවයේදී තානාපති කාර්යාල කිහිපයක නිලධාරීන් මෙන්ම බටහිර තානාපති කාර්යාලයක නිලධාරීන් කතා බහ කර ඇත්තේ ඉදිරියේදී ආණ්ඩුවේ අගමැති ධුරයේ සටනක් නිර්මාණය වෙනු ඇතැයි අනුමාන කරන බවයි.

Speculation Grows Over Foreign Minister's Potential Prime Ministerial Appointment

Political analysts are abuzz with speculation that Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath may soon ascend to the position of Prime Minister, according to weekend reports from the 'Aruna' newspaper.

Meanwhile, the wedding of Akila, the daughter of Nihal Senavirathne, chairman of Net FM television, took place last week at a hotel in Talpe, Galle. The event saw the attendance of several prominent figures, including former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath, and former ministers Thalatha Athukorale and Wajira Abeywardena, who congregated at the same table.

During the festivities, discussions surfaced regarding the ousting of former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe. Responding to inquiries about the issue, Wickremesinghe emphasized, “I will answer that. I didn’t point any fingers. I didn’t discuss sports matters with anyone. Nona pointed fingers at everything.”

As these conversations unfolded, Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath arrived and took a seat beside Wickremesinghe. One journalist at the table seized the moment to ask Herath, “There are rumors that you will become the Prime Minister next year.”

Herath responded with a smile, stating, “Why next year? It could happen this year.”

Notably, both the former President and the Foreign Minister engaged in an extended, earnest discussion throughout the evening.

At a separate gathering, attendees at the United States Embassy's 250th National Day celebrations, which included officials from multiple diplomatic missions, expressed predictions of an impending contest for the Prime Minister's office within the government.
