එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂය සහ සමගි ජන බලවේගය එක්ව ශක්තිමත් විපක්ෂයක් ගොඩනැගීම වත්මන් යුගයේ අවශ්යතාවයක් බව එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂයේ ජාතික සංවිධායක නවීන් දිසානායක මහතා පැවසීය.

මෙහිදි වැඩි දුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ නවීන් දිසානායක මහතා කායි සිටියේ, එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂය සහ සමගි ජන බලවේගය අතර තියන එකමුතුකම නායකතුමා සහ ප්රේමදාස මහත්මයා කථා කරලා තියනවා. මං හිතන්නේ ඊළග පියවරට අපිට යන්න පුළුවන්. ඇත්ත වශයෙන් හැමෝම ප්රාර්ථනා කරන්නේ ඒකයි. CWC කොහොමත් එන්නේ SJB,UNP අපිත් එකක් තමයි. ඒ ගොල්ලන් වෙනම යන්න බලාපොරොත්තුවක් නෑ. වතුකරයේ ජනතාවගේ ප්රශ්න එහෙම්මමයි. ඒ ගොල්ලන්ගේ ප්රශ්න කිසිම දියුණුවක් වෙලා නෑ. ඉතින් විශේෂයෙන්ම ආණ්ඩුව රු.700කින් වැඩි කරලා තියනවා දෛනික වැටුප. නමුත් ඒක සරිලනවා මදි ඇත්ත වශයෙන්ම තමාගේ එදිනෙදා බඩු මිලත් එක්ක ඒක හොදටම මදි.
ඉතින් අපේ කාලේ අපි කිව්වේ, නිෂ්පාදන ධාරිතාවය අනුව මේක වැඩි කරන්න අවශ්යයි කියලා. අපි ඒකට සූත්රයක් හැදුවා. වැවිලි කර්මන්ත ඇමති හැටියට අපි ඒ ගැන සාකච්ඡා කලා. අපි බලයේ හිටියා නම්, අපි මීට වඩා සහනයක් වතුකරයේ දමිළ ජනතාවට ලබා දෙනවා. විශේෂයෙන්ම සමාගම් එක්ක සාකච්ඡා කරලා එක තැනකට අපි එන්න පදනම දාලා තිබ්බේ. දැන් මේ ආණ්ඩුව එහෙම කිසිම දෙයක් කරලා නෑ.
අනිත් එක තමයි ආණ්ඩුවේ මුදල් වලින් වියදම් කරනවා හැම අවුරුද්දේම. ඉතින් අපි හිතන්නේ බදු ගෙවන ජනතාවගේ මුදල් විශේයෙන් පඩි ගෙවීමට මේක ඉතාමත් වැරදි පූර්වාදර්ශයක්. ඒක මං හිත්න්නේ අපි අලුතින් හිතන්න අවශ්යයි. එක දිගටම වෙන් කරන්න බෑ හැම අවුරුද්දේම.
අල්ලස් සහ දුෂණ සම්බන්ධයෙන් අපි ඇත්ත වශයෙන්ම ආණ්ඩුව නියම විදිහටම හරියාකාරව, නීත්යානුකූලව, කිසිම දේශපාන වෛරයකින් තොරව ඒ වැඩපිලිවෙළ කරනවා නම් ඒ පිලිබද කිසිම ගැටළුවක් නැ. අපිටත් ඕන හොරු ටිකයි, දූෂිතයෝ ටිකයි අල්ලලා ඇතුලට දාන්න. එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂය අපි පැහැදිලිව ඉන්නේ ඒ මතේ.
විශේෂයෙන්ම අපිට පේනවා, නිරන්තර දේශපාලන හිරිහැරයක්, තමන්ගේ දේශපාලන හතුරන් ටික ඇතුලට දා ගැනිමේ උත්සහයක්, එහෙමයි මට පේන්නේ. නමුත් ඇත්ත වශයෙන්ම නීතිය ඉදිරියේ හරියට අපි ස්වාධීනත්වය, තිබෙන නීති පද්ධතියේ ආණ්ඩුකාරවරුන්, නීති පද්ධතියට විශාල ගරු කිරිමක් තියනවා. නීති පද්ධතිය අනුව වැඩකටයුතු කරනවා නම් අපිට කිසිම ගැටළුවක් නෑ.
බන්ධනාගාර කේස් එක ඇත්ත වශයෙන්ම වෙලා තියෙන්නේ, ආණ්ඩුවේ නොහැකියාව පැහැදිලිව ඔප්පු කරන එක. මොකද මේ දැන් අපිට සාක්ෂි ලැබිලා තියනවා, වාර්ථාවලත් එළියට එනවා, ඒ තමයි වැලිකඩ බන්ධනාගාරයේ වෙනම ටීම් එකක් ගිහින් තමයි ප්රශ්නය ඇති වෙලා තියෙන්නේ. ඉතින් ඒ ටීම් එක යැවීමට ප්රධාන හේතුව මොකක්ද? කියන එක තමයි.
අනිත් එක සාමාන්යෙයන් එහෙම යවන්නේ නෑ. තව බන්ධනාගාරෙකින් වෙනත් බන්ධනාගාරයකට යවන්නේ නැ ටීම්ස්. ඔතන ඒ ගත්තු තිරණය හරි වැරදියි. නොසැලකිලිමත් තීරණයක් විදිහට තමයි මම ඒක දකින්නේ. ඒකට සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම අධිකරණ ඇමතිතුමා වගකීම භාර ගන්න ඕන. නැත්නම් ජීවිත 31කට වග කියන්නේ කවුද? අන්තිමට ඒ දේශපාලන නායකයින් අධිකරණ ඇමතිතුමා ඇතුලුව, අධිකරණ ලේකම්තුමිය ඇතුලුව සියලු දෙනා මේකට වග කියන්න අවශ්යයි. යනුවෙන් පැවසීය.

UNP and SJB: A Unified Opposition is Essential, Says Navin Dissanayake
Navin Dissanayake, the National Organizer of the United National Party (UNP), asserted that the collaboration between the UNP and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is crucial for constructing a robust opposition in today's political landscape. He emphasized the importance of this unity during a media briefing held in Nuwara Eliya.
Dissanayake elaborated that the discussions surrounding the joint efforts of the leadership from the UNP and the SJB, particularly those initiated by former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and late Prime Minister Wijayananda Dahanayake, highlight a path forward. He expressed optimism that moving forward requires commitment from all involved, stating, "Everyone is genuinely hoping for this unity to materialize."
The UNP’s amalgamation with the SJB is viewed as a significant step toward establishing a leading opposition in the country, according to Dissanayake. "What we need most is to consolidate our efforts and create a strong front that prevents fragmentation among our ranks," he said, underscoring the need for a foundational basis for this collaboration.
Touching on the current economic issues facing the plantations, Dissanayake pointed out that the government has effectively raised the minimum daily wage by Rs. 700, yet he argued that this increase fails to align with the rising cost of living. "It falls short in the face of everyday inflation," he noted, criticizing the government's failure to address the pressing issues of the community adequately.
He insisted that the historical approach toward productivity and economic standards needs reevaluation. "When we were in power, we made significant strides to provide assistance to estate workers, and had we remained in governance, the benefits would have been even more substantial," he stated, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive strategy regarding negotiations with estate companies.
Dissanayake also highlighted the stark reality that the government lacks any effective initiatives in managing the challenges faced by the people, particularly in the plantation sector. "The issues facing the workers remain unresolved, and the government's inaction is evident," he remarked.
Referring to systemic corruption and misconduct within the government, he called for accountability, urging legal officials to adhere strictly to ethical practices in governance. "If actions are taken without political bias and with due diligence, we will not face any hurdles," he stated, reinforcing the need for a transparent approach to governance.
Additionally, he pointed out the necessity for political leaders and official bodies to take responsibility for their roles concerning the issues affecting citizens. "This requires collective accountability not just from political leaders, but also from the judiciary and administrative bodies," Dissanayake concluded, calling for unity and proactive governance to turn the tide in favor of the citizens.
