 දිවයින පුරා පිහිටි බන්ධනාගාර තුළ සිදුවන ගැටුම් සහ කැරලි මර්දනය කිරීමේ අරමුණින්, රැඳවියන්ගේ හැසිරීම් නිරීක්ෂණය කිරීම සඳහා බුද්ධි අංශ නිලධාරීන් දහසකට ආසන්න පිරිසක් අලුතින් යෙදවීමට රජය තීරණය කර තිබේ.

රජයේ ආරංචි මාර්ග සඳහන් කරන පරිදි, මෙම බුද්ධි අංශ නිලධාරීන් විසින් රැඳවියන්ගේ ප්‍රචණ්ඩකාරී හැසිරීම්, ඔවුන්ගේ කුමන්ත්‍රණකාරී ස්වභාවය සහ බාහිර පාතාල කණ්ඩායම් සමඟ පවත්වන සබඳතා පිළිබඳව නිරන්තරයෙන් විමසිලිමත් වෙමින් වාර්තා කරනු ඇත.

බන්ධනාගාර තුළ සිදුවන ගැටුම් කල්තියා හඳුනාගෙන ඒවා වැළැක්වීම මෙම වැඩපිළිවෙළේ ප්‍රධාන අරමුණයි.

මීට අමතරව, රැඳවියන් බන්ධනාගාර තුළ කල්ලි ගැසීම වැළැක්වීම සඳහා නව ක්‍රමවේදයක් හඳුන්වා දීමට ද බලධාරීන් තීරණය කර ඇත. ඒ අනුව, රැඳවියන් එකම බන්ධනාගාරයක දිගු කාලයක් රඳවා නොතබා, වරින් වර වෙනත් බන්ධනාගාර වෙත මාරු කර යැවීමට පියවර ගැනේ.

බන්ධනාගාර දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ දත්තවලට අනුව, මේ වන විට මෙරට බන්ධනාගාර පද්ධතිය තුළ රැඳවියන් 42,000ක් පමණ රඳවා සිටිති. ඉන් 817කට අධික පිරිසක් බරපතල අපරාධ සම්බන්ධයෙන් මරණ දඬුවම නියම වූවන් බව වාර්තා වේ.

බන්ධනාගාර තුළ සිට ක්‍රියාත්මක වන පාතාල කල්ලිවල විවිධ කුමන්ත්‍රණකාරී වැඩසටහන් පිළිබඳව දැඩි අවධානයෙන් පසුවන ලෙසත්, ඒ පිළිබඳව වහාම වාර්තා කරන ලෙසත් රජය බුද්ධි අංශ වෙත වැඩිදුරටත් උපදෙස් දී තිබේ.

Government Reinforces Surveillance to Tackle Prison Violence

In a significant move aimed at curbing violence and unrest within prisons across the country, the government has decided to deploy nearly a thousand intelligence officers to monitor inmate behavior more closely.

According to government sources, these officers will continuously report on the violent behaviors of prisoners, their conspiratorial tendencies, and any connections with external criminal organizations. This intelligence gathering is imperative for maintaining order within the prison system.

The primary objective of this initiative is to identify and prevent potential outbreaks of violence inside the prisons. With incidents of conflict on the rise, the authorities are taking decisive steps to bolster security measures.

Moreover, officials have resolved to introduce new protocols to prevent prison gangs from forming. In a bid to thwart the establishment of long-standing alliances among inmates, prisoners will be transferred frequently between different facilities.

Data from the Department of Prisons indicates that approximately 42,000 inmates are currently incarcerated in Sri Lanka's prison system, with over 817 individuals serving death sentences for serious crimes.

The government has emphasized the need for exhaustive surveillance of the various conspiratorial activities orchestrated by gangs operating within the prison system. Intelligence agencies have been instructed to report any findings immediately to ensure prompt action can be taken.
