 හෝමුස් සමුද්‍ර සන්ධියේ දකුණු දිග අනාරක්ෂිත මුහුදු මාර්ගයක් ඔස්සේ ගමන් කිරීමට උත්සාහ කළ තෙල් නැව් දෙකක් සඳුදා රාත්‍රියේ පිපිරීමකට ලක්ව ඇති බව ඉරාන ඉස්ලාමීය විප්ලවීය ආරක්ෂක බලකාය නිවේදනය කරයි.

පසුගිය පෙබරවාරි මාසයේදී ඇමරිකාව සහ ඊශ්‍රායලය එක්ව ඉරානයට එරෙහිව දියත් කළ ප්‍රහාරවලින් අනතුරුව කලාපීය නොසන්සුන්තාව යළිත් උත්සන්න වී ඇත.

Iran Confirms Oil Tankers Exploded in Gulf of Oman Amid Increased Military Tensions

Two oil tankers attempting to navigate an unsecure maritime route in the southern region of the Hormuz Strait suffered explosions late Monday night, as reported by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Iran has attributed the incident to American military influence, suggesting that the vessels were using this hazardous route under duress from U.S. forces.

The explosions rendered both tankers inoperable, highlighting the serious implications of such aggressive actions in this strategically critical maritime area. The IRGC's statement emphasized the potential consequences of escalatory military activities in the region.

Furthermore, the announcement indicated that the tankers were attempting to breach designated safe maritime corridors amidst direct U.S. military pressure, warning that there is no legal basis for American intervention so far from its own borders.

Quoting verses from the Quran, the Iranian security forces underscored the absence of safety for the transport of oil, gas, or chemicals through these maritime routes as long as U.S. aggressive activities persist in the area.

Meanwhile, the British Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) confirmed the presence of a naval vessel engaged in firefighting operations off the northern coast of Oman.

The resurgence of regional tensions follows a series of joint U.S. and Israeli strikes against Iran earlier this year in February, which escalated hostilities across the region.

In retaliation, Iran has conducted drone and missile strikes on American targets in the Gulf area. Despite efforts to mitigate conflicts through an understanding agreement with Pakistan, U.S. interventions related to the Hormuz Strait have led to a significant deterioration in the situation.
