The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has officially claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on American military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain, executed within a single night. This escalation marks what Iran describes as the initial stage of a punitive response against the United States for alleged treaty violations.
International media reports suggest that these attacks come as a stark warning from the IRGC, indicating that if the United States continues its aggressive operations, further assaults on American targets scattered across the region will follow.
In light of the potential for additional Iranian strikes, alerts have been issued in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar regarding missile threats. The situation is intensifying, especially with reports of the United States planning to launch a new wave of significant aerial strikes against Iran, which is likely to escalate tensions across the Middle East.
A new round of attacks was initiated shortly after President Donald Trump announced the end of a fragile ceasefire following an incident where commercial vessels were targeted in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. American military officials have indicated that the purpose of these strikes is to safeguard freedom of navigation through this crucial shipping lane, vital for the global oil and natural gas supply.
According to Iranian state media, attacks have also been carried out on locations within Iran's Bushehr province, alongside strike actions targeting the southern port cities of Chabahar, Konarak, Bandar Abbas, and Sirik.
