ජනපතිගේ ප‍්‍රංශ ගමන කල් දමයි..

 මීගමුව බන්ධනාගාරයේ ඇති වූ නොසන්සුන්කාරී තත්ත්වය ඇතුළු මෙරට පවතින දේශීය අවශ්‍යතා සැලකිල්ලට ගනිමින්, ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා මේ මස අගදී සිදු කිරීමට නියමිතව තිබූ ප්‍රංශ නිල සංචාරය වසර අවසානය දක්වා කල් දමා තිබේ.

මේ පිළිබඳව ප්‍රංශ බලධාරීන් දැනුවත් කර ඇති අතර, සංචාරය සඳහා වසර අවසානයේදී නව දිනයක් ලබා දෙන ලෙස ඉල්ලා ඇතැයි විදේශ කටයුතු අමාත්‍ය විජිත හේරත් මහතා සඳහන් කළේය.

පසුගිය පෙබරවාරි මාසයේ නවදිල්ලියේ පැවැති කෘතිම බුද්ධි සමුළුව අතරතුරදී ප්‍රංශ ජනාධිපති එමානුවෙල් මැක්‍රොන් මහතා විසින් ජනාධිපති දිසානායක මහතාට මෙම ආරාධනය සිදු කර තිබිණි.

මෙම සංචාරයේදී යුරෝපා සංගමයේ GSP+ වෙළඳ සහනය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට තවදුරටත් ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා ප්‍රංශයේ සහයෝගය ලබා ගැනීම පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කිරීමට ජනාධිපතිවරයා සැලසුම් කර තිබිණි. වත්මන් GSP+ සහන කාලය එළඹෙන දෙසැම්බර් 31 වැනිදායින් අවසන් වන බැවින්, ලබන වසරේදී ඒ සඳහා ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට අලුතින් අයදුම් කිරීමට සිදුවනු ඇත.

GSP+ සහනය අඛණ්ඩව භුක්ති විඳීම සඳහා මානව හිමිකම්, කම්කරු අයිතිවාසිකම්, පරිසර ආරක්ෂණය සහ යහපාලනය සම්බන්ධ ජාත්‍යන්තර සම්මුතීන් 27ක් ඵලදායී ලෙස ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම අත්‍යවශ්‍ය වේ.

මීට අමතරව, ජනාධිපතිවරයාගේ මෙම සංචාරය අතරතුරදී ආර්ථික, මූල්‍ය සහ ආරක්ෂක ක්ෂේත්‍රවල සහයෝගීතාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් අවබෝධතා ගිවිසුම් තුනකට අත්සන් තැබීමට ද රජය අපේක්ෂා කරයි. සංචාරය ආරම්භ කිරීමට පෙර එම ගිවිසුම්වල අන්තර්ගතය අවසන් කිරීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වන බව අමාත්‍ය විජිත හේරත් මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය.

ජනාධිපතිවරයා සමඟ විදේශ කටයුතු අමාත්‍යවරයා සහ මුදල් නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයා ද මෙම සංචාරයට එක්වීමට නියමිතව ඇත.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake's Official Visit to France Postponed Amid Local Tensions

The planned official visit of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to France, initially scheduled for the end of this month, has been postponed until the end of the year. This decision comes in light of the unrest in the Meegamuwa prison and other pressing domestic issues that require attention.

French authorities have been informed of the postponement, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wijitha Herath, noted that a new date for the visit will be requested for later this year.

The invitation for the visit was first extended by French President Emmanuel Macron during the Artificial Intelligence Conference held in New Delhi last February.

During this visit, the President aimed to discuss the acquisition of further support from France regarding the European Union's GSP+ trade concessions for Sri Lanka. The current GSP+ relief period is set to expire on December 31st, prompting the need for Sri Lanka to reapply next year.

To maintain uninterrupted access to the GSP+ concessions, it is imperative to effectively implement 27 international agreements regarding human rights, labor rights, environmental protection, and good governance.

Additionally, the government expects to sign three memoranda of understanding during the visit, focusing on cooperation in the economic, financial, and security sectors. Minister Wijitha Herath expressed hope that the contents of these agreements will be finalized before the commencement of the trip.

Alongside the President, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of State for Finance are also set to participate in the visit.
