Escalating Tensions Between the U.S. and Iran Trigger Major Military Strikes

The ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran, aimed at controlling the strategic Hormuz Strait, has intensified following a significant airstrike campaign conducted by U.S. forces targeting key Iranian infrastructure facilities.

In retaliation, Iran has reportedly launched missile attacks against several American-aligned countries in the region.

The U.S. airstrikes have resulted in extensive damage to major Iranian ports, bridges, and the electrical power grid.

Hossein Kermanpour, spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Health, disclosed that by Friday morning, the attacks had claimed the lives of 38 individuals, with over 400 injuries reported.

Strikes aimed at railways and bridges in Bandar Khamir, located in Iran's southern Hormozgan province, have resulted in the deaths of seven people. Analysts assert that a primary objective of these attacks was to isolate Bandar Abbas, Iran's most vital port, from the rest of the country. Additionally, the control tower at Chabahar Port, situated near Oman, was also destroyed in the U.S. assault.

For the first time, Iran's Ministry of Energy has acknowledged that its electrical infrastructure has come under attack, prompting authorities to advise residents in southern provinces to limit their electricity consumption.

Commenting on the situation, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed optimism, stating that the war with Iran is progressing successfully. "We are securing significant victories within Iran. The results will be evident very soon," he added.

In response to the American airstrikes, Iran has targeted missile strikes against countries such as Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. The Qatari government issued two alerts advising residents to seek safe locations, while attacks were also reported on a water treatment facility and an electric power plant in Kuwait. In Kurdish regions of Iraq, nine fatalities have been reported due to strikes in those areas.

Following these conflicts, navigation through the Strait of Hormuz—a critical avenue for global energy supplies—has faced severe disruptions. After the United States and Israel declared war on Iran on February 28, Iran took steps to close this vital maritime passage, leading to a hike in global oil prices and a turmoil within international supply chains.
