සමගි ජන බලවේගය බලයට පත්වන ඉදිරි රජයක් යටතේ විපක්ෂ නායක ධුරය දැරීමට නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතාට අවස්ථාව හිමිවනු ඇති බව එම පක්ෂයේ මහලේකම් රංජිත් මද්දුම බණ්ඩාර මහතා පවසයි.

එමෙන්ම, ලබන 23 වනදා විපක්ෂයේ සියලුම පක්ෂ නායකයින් විපක්ෂ නායක කාර්යාලයේදී හමුවී ඉදිරි දේශපාලන ක්‍රියාමාර්ග සහ අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වය සුරැකීම පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කිරීමට නියමිත බව ද ඔහු පැවසීය.

Potential Leadership Shift in Opposition as Namal Rajapaksa May Assume Role

The Secretary of the Samagi Jana Balavegaya, Ranjith Maddumabandara, has revealed that Namal Rajapaksa may be positioned to take on the role of Opposition Leader under the next government, should his party come to power.

During a media briefing following a significant discussion at the Opposition Leader's office, Maddumabandara shared insights into the party's strategic focus.

Stressing the priority of toppling the current government, he underscored that this objective remains the primary responsibility and mission of the Samagi Jana Balavegaya.

He dismissed recent reports suggesting a 75% popularity rating for the government as unfounded and urged the administration to conduct local council elections immediately to gauge the true sentiment of the electorate.

In addition, he announced plans for a meeting on the 23rd, where all opposition leaders will convene to discuss upcoming political strategies and the preservation of judicial independence.

Responding playfully to queries from journalists regarding the rumors of Namal Rajapaksa ascending to the Opposition Leader role, Maddumabandara humorously indicated that under the next government formed by the Samagi Jana Balavegaya, this scenario is indeed plausible.
