වැලිකඩත් ගැටුමක්.. රැදවියන් පිරිසක් රෝහලට..

 කොළඹ බොරැල්ල මැගසින් බන්ධනාගාරයේ රැඳවියන් පිරිසක් අතර අද (10) දහවල් ඇති වූ ගැටුමකින් රැඳවියන් සිව්දෙනෙකු තුවාල ලබා රෝහල්ගත කර තිබේ.

බන්ධනාගාර ආරංචි මාර්ග සඳහන් කරන්නේ මෙම නොසන්සුන්කාරී තත්ත්වය මුලින්ම රැඳවියන් දෙදෙනෙකු අතර ආරම්භ වී ඇති අතර, පසුව තවත් රැඳවියන් දෙදෙනෙකු ඊට මැදිහත් වීමත් සමඟ ගැටුම උත්සන්න වී ඇති බවයි.

මෙම පිරිස අතර රණ්ඩුවක් ඇති වීමට බලපෑ හේතුව මෙතෙක් අනාවරණය වී නොමැත.

ගැටුමෙන් තුවාල ලැබූ රැඳවියන් වහාම වැලිකඩ බන්ධනාගාර රෝහල වෙත ඇතුළත් කිරීමට බන්ධනාගාර නිලධාරීන් පියවර ගෙන ඇත. එහිදී ප්‍රතිකාර ලැබූ රැඳවියන් තිදෙනෙකු සුවය ලැබීමෙන් පසු නැවත මැගසින් බන්ධනාගාරය වෙත රැගෙන විත් ඇති අතර, අනෙක් රැඳවියා තවදුරටත් එම රෝහලේම නේවාසිකව ප්‍රතිකාර ලබන බව වාර්තා වේ.

මැගසින් බන්ධනාගාරයේ උපරිම ධාරිතාව රැඳවියන් 600ක් වුවද, අද වන විට එහි ධාරිතාව මෙන් පස් ගුණයකටත් වඩා වැඩි පිරිසක්, එනම් රැඳවියන් 3,100ක් පමණ රඳවා සිටින බව පැවසේ.

Four Inmates Injured in Disturbance at Colombo's Magazine Prison

A violent disturbance erupted among inmates at the Magazine Prison in Boralesgamuwa, Colombo, today (10), resulting in injuries to four prisoners who have since been hospitalized.

Reports from prison sources indicate that the unrest began as a conflict between two inmates, which subsequently escalated with the involvement of two additional prisoners.

The cause behind this turmoil remains unclear, with no specific details on what triggered the altercation being disclosed as of yet.

Prison officials swiftly took action to transfer the injured inmates to the Welikada Prison Hospital for treatment. After receiving medical care, three of the injured prisoners were reported to have recovered and returned to the prison, while one inmate continues to receive treatment at the hospital.

Although the Magazine Prison is engineered to accommodate a maximum of 600 inmates, it currently houses approximately 3,100 individuals, significantly exceeding its intended capacity.
