 නානුඔය සිට (19) දින උදෑසන 9:00ට බදුල්ල දක්වා ධාවනය වූ පොඩි මැණිකේ දුම්රියේ පා පුවරැවේ ගමන් ගත් අවුරුදු 23ක තුර්කි ජාතික තරුණියක් දුම්රියෙන් ඇදවැටී බරපතල ලෙස තුවාල ලබා නුවරඑලිය දිස්ත්‍රික් මහ රෝහල වෙත ඇතුලත් කිරිමෙන් පසු තුවාලකාරියගේ තත්වය බරපතල බැවින් ඇය මහනුවර ශික්ෂණ රෝහල වෙත ඇතුලත් කල බව අඹේවෙළ දුම්රිය ස්ථානයේ ස්ථානාධිපතිවරයා පැවසිය.

තුවාල ලැබූ තුර්කි ජාතික තරුණිය ඇගේ මිතුරියන් දෙදෙනෙකු සමග නානුඔය සිට ඇල්ල දක්වා පොඩි මැණිකේ දුම්රියෙන් ගමන් කරමින් සිටියදී දුම්රිය පා පුවරවේ සිට ඡායාරූප ගැනීමට උත්සහ කිරිමේදි ඇය පැරකුම්පුර සහ අඹේවෙළ දුම්රිය ස්ථාන දෙක අතරදී දුම්රියෙන් ඇද වැටී ඇත.

දුම්රයෙන් ඇදවැටුණු එම තරුණිය දුම්රිය නියාමකවරුන් විසින් අඹේවෙළ දුම්රිය ස්ථානය වෙත රැගෙනවිත් භාර දී ඇත.

1990 සුවසැරිය ගිලන් රථයෙන් තුවාලකාරිණිය ඇගේ මිතුරියන් දෙදෙනාද සමග නුවරඑලිය දිස්ත්‍රික් මහ රෝහල වෙත යොමු කල බව අඹේවෙළ දුම්රිය ස්ථානයේ ස්ථානාධිපතිවරයා පැවසීය.

Turkish National Seriously Injured in Train Accident in Nanu Oya

In a tragic incident that unfolded on the morning of the 19th, a 23-year-old Turkish woman sustained serious injuries after falling from a train near the Nanu Oya railway station. The accident occurred around 9:00 AM as she was traveling towards Badulla on the renowned "Podi Manike" train, well-known for its picturesque route.

Reports indicate that the young woman was attempting to take photographs when she lost her balance and fell between the railway stations of Pera Kumpura and Ambewewa. Eyewitnesses stated that she was traveling with two friends, exploring the scenic railway journey from Nanu Oya to Ella.

Following the incident, train operators promptly ensured she was transported to the Ambewewa railway station, where she received immediate assistance. The injured tourist was later transferred to the district general hospital in Nuwara Eliya for further treatment, where her condition is currently classified as critical.

It has been reported that a rescue vehicle was dispatched to take the injured woman and her friends to the hospital, ensuring they received the necessary medical attention swiftly. The incident highlights ongoing safety concerns regarding pedestrian interactions with trains, particularly in popular tourist areas.
