ශ්‍රී ලංකා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ තොරතුරු තාක්ෂණ පද්ධතිවල පවතින බරපතළ ආරක්ෂක දුර්වලතා හේතුවෙන් ඒවා සයිබර් ප්‍රහාරයන්ට ලක්වීමේ දැඩි අවදානමක් පවතින බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා පරිගණක හදිසි ප්‍රතිචාර සංසදය (SLCERT) අනතුරු අඟවයි.

ජාතික විගණන කාර්යාලය මගින් නිකුත් කරන ලද නවතම වාර්තාවක මේ පිළිබඳව විශේෂ අවධානයක් යොමු කර තිබේ.

පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ 2025 වාර්ෂික කාර්ය සාධන වාර්තාවට ඇතුළත් කර ඇති විගණන නිරීක්ෂණවලට අනුව, SLCERT ආයතනය විසින් සිදු කරන ලද විශේෂ විමර්ශනයකදී මෙම තොරතුරු අනාවරණය වී ඇත.

එහිදී පරීක්ෂාවට ලක් කරන ලද තාක්ෂණික කරුණු 56ක් අතුරින් කරුණු 46ක්ම පවතින්නේ ඉතා ඉහළ අවදානම් මට්ටමක බව එම වාර්තාවේ සඳහන් වේ.

මෙම තත්ත්වය හමුවේ පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ මෙහෙයුම් කටයුතුවලට බාධා පැමිණවීම, වෙබ් අඩවි අඩපණ කිරීම සහ සංවේදී තොරතුරු සොරකම් කිරීම වැනි සයිබර් අපරාධ සිදුවීමේ ඉඩකඩක් පවතින බවට ආරක්ෂක අංශ අනතුරු අඟවා ඇත.

විශේෂයෙන්ම බාහිර පාර්ශවයන්ට පද්ධතිවලට අනවසරයෙන් ඇතුළු වීමට ඇති ඉඩකඩ වහාම අහුරා දැමිය යුතු බව එමගින් අවධාරණය කර තිබේ.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, මෙම අවදානම් තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව පාර්ලිමේන්තු බලධාරීන් දැනුවත් කර ඇති අතර, පද්ධතිවල ආරක්ෂාව තහවුරු කිරීම සඳහා අවශ්‍ය තාක්ෂණික පියවර මේ වන විටත් ගනිමින් පවතින බව පාර්ලිමේන්තු උසස් නිලධාරියෙක් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

කළමනාකරණ දුර්වලතා හේතුවෙන් මතු වූ මෙම ගැටලු නිරාකරණය කරමින් සයිබර් ආරක්ෂාව උපරිම මට්ටමින් පවත්වා ගැනීමට කටයුතු කරන බව ද ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

Heavy Cybersecurity Vulnerabilities Threaten Sri Lanka's Parliament

Sri Lanka's Parliament is facing a significant threat of cyber attacks due to serious vulnerabilities within its information technology systems, warns the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT).

A recent report released by the National Audit Office highlights these issues, urging immediate attention to the state of cybersecurity within governmental institutions.

Findings included in the Parliament's 2025 Annual Performance Report indicate that, among the 56 technical points assessed by SLCERT, 46 were identified as carrying a high risk of security breaches.

The report raises alarms about the potential for cyber crimes that could disrupt parliamentary operations, deface websites, and lead to the theft of sensitive information.

Security authorities stress the urgency of closing loopholes that allow unauthorized access by external parties to these critical systems.

In response to these alarming vulnerabilities, parliamentary officials have been informed and are reportedly taking necessary technical steps to ensure the security of their systems. A senior parliamentary official emphasized ongoing efforts to address managerial weaknesses and to maximize cybersecurity measures.
