Allegations of Bribery Prompt Investigation Request Against Two Anti-Corruption Commissioners

In a significant development, Sudath Devapura, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Centre for the World Buddhist Summit, has submitted a formal complaint to the Bribery Commission, urging an investigation into allegations of corruption involving two commissioners.

The complaint, directed to the Commission’s Director General, Rangitha Disanayake, highlights actions allegedly carried out by individuals who have served in the roles of the Commission's commissioners. It is claimed that they have engaged in multiple corrupt activities while misusing the Commission's name and official titles.

Furthermore, the complaint reveals that one of the commissioners had also held a position within the Presidential Secretariat during the time they were alleged to have committed acts of corruption. It is suggested that government officials may have been complicit, either knowingly or unknowingly, in these nefarious activities.

Sudath Devapura's appeal calls for an expedited investigation into these alleged corrupt actions and for legal measures to be taken against the involved individuals, emphasizing the need for accountability within the Commission.
