ඉරාන යුද්දයෙන් වැඩිම බලපෑම ශ‍්‍රී ලංකා රුපියලට..

මැද පෙරදිග කලාපයේ පවතින යුදමය හා දේශපාලනික අස්ථාවරත්වය හමුවේ, සමාන ආර්ථික මට්ටම් සහිත සෙසු රටවල මුදල් ඒකක හා සැසඳීමේදී ශ්‍රී ලංකා රුපියල වැඩිම අවප්‍රමාණය වීමකට ලක්ව ඇත.

මෑතකාලීන දත්ත විශ්ලේෂණයකට අනුව, පසුගිය පෙබරවාරි 28 වැනිදා සිට ජූලි 22 වැනිදා දක්වා වූ කාලය තුළ ඇමරිකානු ඩොලරයට සාපේක්ෂව ශ්‍රී ලංකා රුපියල සියයට 8ක අගයකින් පහත වැටී ඇත. මෙය කලාපීය අනෙකුත් රටවල් හා සැසඳීමේදී කැපී පෙනෙන පසුබෑමකි.

මෙම කාලසීමාව තුළ තායිලන්ත බාත් (Baht) ඒකකය සියයට 7.9කින් ද, පිලිපීන පෙසෝ (Peso) ඒකකය සියයට 6.6කින් ද, ඉන්දීය රුපියල සියයට 5.5කින් ද අවප්‍රමාණය වී තිබේ.

මීට අමතරව ඉන්දුනීසියානු රුපියල සියයට 2.1ක සහ බංග්ලාදේශ ටාකා (Taka) ඒකකය සියයට 0.6ක සුළු අවප්‍රමාණය වීමක් පෙන්නුම් කරයි.

විශේෂත්වය වන්නේ, මෙම අර්බුදකාරී වටපිටාව මධ්‍යයේ වුවද පාකිස්ථාන රුපියල ඇමරිකානු ඩොලරයට සාපේක්ෂව සියයට 0.6ක වර්ධනයක් වාර්තා කර තිබීමයි.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා රුපියලේ මෙම අවප්‍රමාණය වීම මාසිකව ගත් කල, අප්‍රේල් මාසයේදී සියයට 1.3ක් ලෙසත්, මැයි සහ ජූනි මාසවලදී සියයට 2.6 බැගින් වූ අගයකිනුත් වාර්තා වී ඇත.

Sri Lankan Rupee Drops Significantly Amidst Regional Instability

In light of the ongoing military and political instability in the Middle Eastern region, the Sri Lankan rupee has experienced a notable depreciation compared to other currencies from nations with similar economic standings.

Recent analysis reveals that from February 28 to July 22, the Sri Lankan rupee fell by 8% against the US dollar, marking a significant decline when compared to other countries in the region.

During this period, the Thai baht decreased by 7.9%, the Philippine peso dropped by 6.6%, and the Indian rupee saw a contraction of 5.5% against the dollar.

Furthermore, the Indonesian rupiah recorded a modest decline of 2.1%, while the Bangladeshi taka experienced a decrease of just 0.6%.

Interestingly, amidst this turbulent backdrop, the Pakistani rupee has managed to increase by 0.6% against the US dollar.

When viewed monthly, the Sri Lankan rupee’s depreciation was reported at 1.3% in April, followed by drops of 2.6% in both May and June.

Economic analysts suggest that the impact of ongoing instability in the region is clearly reflected in these figures, highlighting the significant challenges facing Sri Lanka's economy.
