මුදල් විශුද්ධිකරණය වැළැක්වීමේ පනත යටතේ තමන්ට එරෙහිව කොළඹ මහාධිකරණය හමුවේ ගොනුකර ඇති නඩුව විභාගයට ගැනීම වළක්වාලමින් නියෝගයක් නිකුත් කරන ලෙස හිටපු ජනාධිපති මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතාගේ පුත් යෝෂිත රාජපක්ෂ මහතා කළ ඉල්ලීමට නීතිපතිවරයා අද (22) ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණය හමුවේ සිය විරෝධය පළ කර සිටියේය.

යෝෂිත රාජපක්ෂ මහතාගේ නීතිඥවරුන් විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කර තිබූ අදාළ අභියාචනය අද දින ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණය හමුවේ සලකා බැලීම සඳහා කැඳවනු ලැබූ අවස්ථාවේදී මෙම විරෝධතාව මතු කෙරිණි.

එහිදී නීතිපතිවරයා වෙනුවෙන් අධිකරණය හමුවේ පෙනී සිටි නියෝජ්‍ය සොලිසිටර් ජෙනරාල් ජනක බණ්ඩාර මහතා විසින් අදාළ ඉල්ලීමට එරෙහිව නීතිපතිවරයාගේ විරෝධය නිල වශයෙන් ගොනු කරනු ලැබීය.

ඒ අනුව, අදාළ නඩුව සම්බන්ධයෙන් ඉදිරි අධිකරණ ක්‍රියාමාර්ග ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණය හමුවේ තවදුරටත් ක්‍රියාත්මක වනු ඇත.

Attorney General Opposes Request to Halt Court Proceedings Against Yoshitha Rajapaksa

The Attorney General has firmly opposed a request made by Yoshitha Rajapaksa, the son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, to issue an order preventing the examination of a case filed against him in the Colombo High Court under the Money Laundering Prevention Act. This resistance was made public today (22) during a hearing at the Supreme Court.

During the proceedings, the Supreme Court convened to consider the appeal presented by the legal representatives of Yoshitha Rajapaksa. It was at this session that the Attorney General's objections were articulated.

Janaka Bandara, the Deputy Solicitor General who appeared on behalf of the Attorney General, officially submitted the opposition to the request in court.

Consequently, the legal proceedings concerning this case will continue to be addressed in the Supreme Court in the forthcoming sessions.
