විනිසුරු වයස වැඩි කිරීම අශිෂ්ඨයි.. මාලිමාවේ කිසි සාකච්චාවක් කලේ නෑ.. මට කට වහං ඉන්න කිවුවා..- මාලිමා නායකත්ව මණ්ඩල ලාල් විජේනායක

 විනිසුරුවන්ගේ විශ්‍රාම වයස දීර්ඝ කිරීම සඳහා රජය ගෙන ඇති යෝජනාවට ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ විධායක සභාවේ සාමාජික, නීතිඥ ලාල් විජේනායක මහතා සිය දැඩි විරෝධය පළ කර සිටියි.

අද පැවති මාධ්‍ය හමුවකදී අදහස් දක්වමින් ඒ මහතා අවධාරණය කළේ, තමා නියෝජනය කරන දේශපාලන ව්‍යාපාරය මෙහෙයවන රජයක මෙවැනි යෝජනාවකට තමා එරෙහි වන්නේ මූලධර්ම මත පදනම්ව බවයි.

"මම ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ නායකත්ව මණ්ඩලයේ සහ විධායක සභාවේ ඉන්න කෙනෙක්. ඇයි මම මේකට විරුද්ධ වෙන්නේ. මම ඉන්න npp විධායක සභාවක හෝ වෙන කිසිම සභාවක විනිසුරු විශ්‍රාම වයස දීර්ඝ කරන මෙහෙම තීරණයක් අරන් නෑ. මම මේ ගැන ඇහැව්වම කිව්වා මට කට වහගෙන ඉන්න කියලා. මම අවුරුදු 55 ක් නීතීඥ වෘත්තියේ හිටියා. අවුරුදු 60 ක් වාමාංශික ව්‍යාපාරයේ හිටියා. මගේ දේශපාලනය ගොඩනැගුනෙ දර්ශනයක් ප්‍රතිපත්තියක් මත ශිෂ්ඨ සම්පන්න සමාජයක් වෙනුවෙන්.

අපි අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වය ගැන කරපු එකම සටන මේක නෙමයි ෆීලීක්ස්  ඩයස් ,ජේ .ආර් ජයවර්ධන, නිහාල් ජයවික්‍රම වගේ  අයත් එක්ක මට සටන් කලා. ඒ එකම අරමුණ ශිෂ්ඨ සම්පන්න සමාජයක් වෙනුවෙන් අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වය සදහා. ඒ නිසා අදත් මම සටන් කරනවා ඒ වෙනුවෙන්. මේක හිතුවක්කාර අශිෂ්ඨ තීරණයක්

මෙම කරුණ සම්බන්ධයෙන් තමා ප්‍රශ්න කළ අවස්ථාවේදී තමාට නිහඬව සිටින ලෙස බලපෑම් එල්ල වූ බවද ඔහු මෙහිදී අනාවරණය කළේය.

"මම මේ ගැන විමසූ විට මට ලැබුණු පිළිතුර වුණේ කට පියාගෙන ඉන්න කියන එකයි," යැයි ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

විවිධ පාලන සමයන්හිදී අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වය වෙනුවෙන් සටන් කළ තමා, වත්මන් යෝජනාවට එරෙහි වන්නේද එම කැපවීම මත පිහිටා බව ඔහු අවධාරණය කළේය.

මෙම තීරණය අත්තනෝමතික මෙන්ම අශිෂ්ට එකක් බව හඳුන්වා දුන් ඒ මහතා, අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වය සුරැකීම වෙනුවෙන් තමා අඛණ්ඩව සටන් කරන බවද ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

National People's Power Executive Member Condemns Proposed Increase in Judges' Retirement Age

Lal Wijenayake, an executive member of the National People's Power, has voiced strong opposition to the government's proposal to extend the retirement age for judges. Speaking at a media conference today, he indicated that his resistance is firmly rooted in principles fundamental to political integrity.

Wijenayake emphasized, “As a member of the leadership council and executive board of the National People's Power, I oppose this proposal on foundational grounds. In either my executive capacity or any other board within our party, decision-making on extending judges' retirement age has never been undertaken.” He further revealed that he has been in the legal profession for 55 years and in politics for 60, asserting that his political involvement has always been geared towards achieving a refined and just society.

He recounted his historic battles for judicial independence alongside figures like Felix Dias and J.R. Jayewardene, underscoring that their shared goal was to safeguard judicial autonomy for the sake of creating a dignified society. “Thus, I continue this fight today; this is a thoughtless and outrageous decision,” he declared.

Wijenayake also disclosed that he faced pressure to remain silent when questioned about the proposal. “When I inquired about this, the response I received was to keep my mouth shut,” he noted, emphasizing the troubling nature of such intimidation.

He clarified that his objection to the current proposal stems from his long-standing dedication to the cause of judicial independence, which he described as both autocratic and uncouth. “I will tirelessly continue this struggle to preserve the integrity of our judiciary,” he stated resolutely.
