මධ්‍යම පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාර ඉල්ලා අස්වේ...

 මධ්‍යම පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාර මහාචාර්ය සරත් අබේකෝන් මහතා සිය ධූරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වීමට තීරණය කර ඇති අතර, ඊට අදාළ ලිපිය ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා වෙත යොමු කර තිබේ.

මීට දින කිහිපයකට පෙර තමන් මෙම ඉල්ලා අස්වීමේ ලිපිය ජනාධිපතිවරයා වෙත යොමු කළ බවත්, ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් මෙතෙක් කිසිදු ප්‍රතිචාරයක් ලැබී නොමැති බවත් මහාචාර්යවරයා සඳහන් කළේය.

ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේ, ජනාධිපතිවරයා විසින් සිය ඉල්ලා අස්වීම පිළිගත්තේ ද යන්න පිළිබඳව මෙතෙක් නිල දැනුම්දීමක් සිදු කර නොමැති බවයි.

සිය ඉල්ලා අස්වීමට හේතුව පෞද්ගලික කරුණක් බව මහාචාර්ය සරත් අබේකෝන් මහතා පැවසීය.

ඒ මහතා මීට පෙර පේරාදෙණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ උපකුලපතිවරයා ලෙස ද කටයුතු කර ඇති ප්‍රවීණ විද්වතෙකි.

Central Province Governor Professor Sarath Abeykoon Resigns

Professor Sarath Abeykoon, the Governor of the Central Province, has made the decision to resign from his position, formally submitting his resignation letter to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

He revealed that he had sent this resignation letter to the President several days ago but has not yet received any response regarding the matter.

Abeykoon also noted that there has been no official communication from the President confirming whether his resignation has been accepted.

The professor attributed his resignation to personal reasons. He is a distinguished academic, having previously served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya.
