EPF-ETF මහ බැංකුවෙන් ඉවතට...?

 ශ්‍රී ලංකා මහ බැංකුවේ ඍජු අධීක්ෂණය හා කළමනාකරණය යටතේ පවතින සේවක අර්ථසාධක අරමුදල (EPF) හා පනතක් හරහා භාරකාර මණ්ඩලයක් විසින් පාලනය වන සේවා නියුක්තිකයන්ගේ භාරකාර අරමුදල (ETF) කිසිදු වගකිවයුතු පාර්ශ්වයක හෝ වෘත්තිය සමිතිවල එකඟතාවකින් හා සාකච්ඡාවකින් තොරව ආණ්ඩුවේ හිතුමතය පරිදි මහ බැංකුවෙන් එළියට ගෙන කළමනාකරණ මණ්ඩලයකට පැවැරීමේ සූදානමක් පිළිබඳ තොරතුරු වාර්තා වන බව ජාතික වෘත්තීය සමිති සහ වෘත්තිකයන්ගේ සම්මේලනය පවසයි. 

රටේ සමස්ත වැඩකරන ජනතාවගේ විශ්‍රාමික ජීවන සුරක්ෂිතතාව සහ සුභසාධනය වෙනුවෙන් වන මෙම අරමුදල් සම්බන්ධයෙන් වත්මන් ආණ්ඩුව ගෙන ඒමට සැරසෙන අත්තනෝමතික, ඒකපාර්ශ්වික ක්‍රියාමාර්ග හෙළාදකින බව ද එම සම්මේලනයේ කැඳවුම්කාර මණ්ඩලයේ සාමාජික, රජයේ හෙද නිලධාරීන්ගේ සංගමයේ සභාපති සමන් රත්නප්‍රිය මහතා පැවසීය.

 "සේවක අර්ථ සාධක අරමුදල තුළ සහ සේවා නියුක්තිකයන්ගේ භාරකාර අරමුදල තුළ විශාල මුදලක් තිබෙන බව ආණ්ඩුව දන්නවා. සේවකයන් ලක්ෂ විසිපහක් පමණ මේ අරමුදල් දෙකත් සමග ඉන්නවා. කොහොම වුණත් මහ බැංකුව යටතේ පවතින සේවක අර්ථ සාධක අරමුදල මහ බැංකුවෙන් ඉවත් කරන්න දැන් ආණ්ඩුව යෝජනාවක් ගෙනැල්ලා තියෙනවා. ඒ විදිහට සේවක අර්ථ සාධක අරමුදල මහ බැංකුවෙන් ඉවත් කරලා, ඒ අරමුදල සහ සේවා නියුක්තිකයන්ගේ භාරකාර අරමුදල කියන අරමුදල් දෙකම මණ්ඩලයක් හරහා පාලනය කරන්නත් ආණ්ඩුවේ යෝජනාවක් තියෙනවා. ඇත්තටම මේක ඉතාම බරපතළ යෝජනාවක්"

Concerns Raised Over Government Plans for Employee Pension Funds

The National Trade Union Federation has brought to light serious concerns regarding the government's intention to manage the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) and the Employee Trust Fund (ETF) under the supervision of the Central Bank. This proposal reportedly lacks consensus or discussions with relevant stakeholders and professional unions.

At a recent meeting, representative members expressed alarm over what they characterized as unilateral and arbitrary actions by the current administration, which threaten the financial security and wellbeing of the country's workforce. Saman Ratnapriya, the president of the Government Nurses Association and a member of the organizing committee, emphasized the potential risks associated with these funds.

"The government is well aware that there is a substantial amount of money within both the Employee Provident Fund and the Employee Trust Fund. Approximately 20 million workers depend on these resources. Nevertheless, the administration has put forth a proposal to remove the Employee Provident Fund from the control of the Central Bank. They plan to consolidate both the EPF and ETF under one management board, which poses a serious threat to the funds' integrity," he revealed.
