22 වන ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනයට විපක්ෂය විරුද්ධ වුවද ඒ ඇයිදැයි ඔවුන්ට කියාගත නොහැකි වී ඇතැයි හිටපු අමාත්‍ය එස්.බී. දිසානායක මහතා පවසයි.

මෙම සංශෝධනය ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදයට සහා අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධිනත්වයට බාධාවක් යැයි කීවද විනිසුරු වයස අවුරුදු දෙකකින් වැඩි කිරීම අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වයට හානියක් වන්නේ කෙසේදැයි විමසුවහොත් පිළිතුරු දිය නොහැකි බවද හෙතෙම ප්‍රකාශ කරයි.

මෙම සංශෝධනය පිළිබඳ කලබල විය යුතු නැති බවත් උසාවිය ශක්තිමත් කිරීම වැදගත් බවත් එය පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ 2/3 සම්මත කරගත් පසු රටේ නීතියක් බවට පත්වන බවත් එස්.බී. දිසානායක මහතා සඳහන් කරයි.

මේ සඳහා ජනමත විචාරණයක් පැවැත්වීමේ අවශ්‍යතාවක් නොමැති බවත් ශ්‍රෙෂ්ඨාධීකරණය අදාළ ත තීන්දුව දෙනු ඇති බවත් හෙතෙම වැඩි දුරටත් පවසයි.

The opposition's resistance to the 22nd Constitutional Amendment leaves them unable to articulate the reasons behind their stance, asserts former Minister S.B. Disanayaka. During a recent media briefing, he highlighted their inability to explain how increasing the retirement age for judges poses a threat to judicial independence.

Disanayaka argues that the amendment could enhance democracy and strengthen the judiciary. He noted that once it is passed with a two-thirds majority in Parliament, it will become law in the country, indicating its importance in reinforcing the judicial framework.
