නුවරඑළිය ප්රදේශයේ පවතින දැඩි අයහපත් කාලගුණය සහ ඝන මීදුම හේතුවෙන්, නුවරඑළියේ ග්රෙගරි වැවේ බෝට්ටු පැදීම නුවරඑළිය මහ නගර සභාව විසින් ආරක්ෂක හේතුන් මත තාවකාලිකව තහනම් කර ඇත.
නුවරඑළිය-බදුල්ල ප්රධාන මාර්ගය, නුවරඑළිය-හැටන් ප්රධාන මාර්ගය සහ නුවරඑළිය-මහනුවර ප්රධාන මාර්ගය, ටොප්පස් සිට ලබුකැලේ ප්රදේශය දක්වා ඝණ මීදුම තත්වයක් පවතින බැවින්, එම මාර්ගවල වාහන ධාවනය කිරීමේදී ප්රවේශමෙන් රිය ධාවනය කරවන ලෙස පොලිසිය රියදුරන්ගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටියි.

Heavy Rain Triggers Flooding in Nuwara Eliya
Nuwara Eliya is grappling with severe weather conditions that have resulted in rising water levels in Gregory Lake. The increase is attributed to persistent heavy rains affecting the region. Local authorities have reported that the lake's main entrance was opened on the evening of the 4th, a response to the alarming situation.
Due to the adverse weather conditions and thick fog enveloping the area, boat operations on Gregory Lake have been temporarily suspended by the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council for safety reasons. The council emphasized the need for precautionary measures amid ongoing weather alerts.
Travel routes including the Badulla Main Road, Nuwara Eliya-Hatton Main Road, and the Nuwara Eliya-Mahanuwara Main Road are also facing challenges. Reports indicate thick fog extending to the Top Pass to Labu area, which is causing difficulties for drivers. Authorities are advising caution and urging motorists to exercise careful driving while navigating these routes.
