සෙවනගල සීනි කර්මාන්තශාලාවේ වත්මන් තත්ත්වය සහ සේවක වෘත්තීය ක්‍රියාමාර්ග සම්බන්ධයෙන් විවිධ මාධ්‍ය ඔස්සේ පළවන වාර්තා පිළිබඳව මහජනතාව දැනුවත් කිරීම සඳහා සෙවනගල සීනි සමාගමේ සභාපතිවරයා විසින් මෙම පැහැදිලි කිරීම නිකුත් කරනු ලබයි.

සෙවනගල කර්මාන්තශාලාවේ සේවක නොසන්සුන්තාව හේතුවෙන් පසුගිය කාලය තුළ අවස්ථා කිහිපයකදී නිෂ්පාදන කටයුතුවලට බාධා එල්ල වී තිබේ. අගෝස්තු 25 වැනිදා සිට සේවකයන් සේවයට වාර්තා කළද නිෂ්පාදන කටයුතු නිසි පරිදි සිදු නොවීම හේතුවෙන් කර්මාන්තශාලාවේ මෙහෙයුම් කටයුතු අඩාල විය.

අගෝස්තු 26 සහ 27 යන රජයේ නිවාඩු දිනවලද නිෂ්පාදන කටයුතු ආරම්භ කිරීමට නොහැකි වූ අතර, අගෝස්තු 28 වැනිදා උදෑසන 10.00 වන විටත් නිෂ්පාදන කටයුතු ආරම්භ නොවීම හේතුවෙන්, නිෂ්පාදනයකින් තොරව වැටුප් සහ අතිකාල දීමනා ගෙවීමෙන් සිදුවන පාඩුව වැළැක්වීම සඳහා නැවත දැනුම් දෙනතුරු කර්මාන්තශාලාව වසා තැබීමට පාලනාධිකාරියට සිදුවිය.

එමෙන්ම, කර්මාන්තශාලාව වසා තිබියදීත් අත්‍යවශ්‍ය කටයුතු පවත්වාගෙන යාමට බාධා එල්ල වී ඇති අතර, සීනි අලෙවිය සඳහා පැමිණි ලොරි රථවලටද බාධා කිරීම හේතුවෙන් ආයතනයේ ආදායම් කටයුතුවලට බලපෑම් එල්ල වී තිබේ.

ආයතනයේ පිරිස් බලය සහ වැටුප් ව්‍යුහය සම්බන්ධයෙන් පසුගිය කාලය තුළ පැවති ගැටලු විසඳීම සඳහා වත්මන් පාලනාධිකාරිය විසින් විධිමත් පිරිස් බල තක්සේරුවක් සහ නව වැටුප් ව්‍යුහයක් හඳුන්වාදීමට කටයුතු කරමින් සිටී. කිසිදු සේවකයෙකුගේ වැටුප අඩු නොකර මෙම ක්‍රියාවලිය ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සඳහා වැටුප් කොමිෂන් සභාව සමඟ සාකච්ඡා කරමින් පවතී.

Operational Disruptions at Sevanagala Sugar Factory Prompt Urgent Clarifications

Sevanagala Sugar Company has issued a statement addressing recent operational challenges at its factory amidst various media reports. The clarification comes from the company's chairman as concerns grow among the public regarding the current state of affairs and employee-related issues.

The factory has faced multiple interruptions in production due to a recent unrest among workers. Although employees reported for duty on August 25, operations were hampered, leading to significantly diminished production activities.

On August 26 and 27, during government holidays, production could not commence, and by the morning of August 28, no activity had started. To mitigate losses related to unpaid salary and overtime during this period, the management decided to temporarily close the factory until further notice.

Even during the closure, essential tasks were disrupted, affecting the income flow as trucks carrying sugar could not be accommodated, thereby impacting the institution's revenue streams.

In a bid to resolve ongoing issues concerning workforce strength and salary structures, the current management is actively working on a systematic assessment of personnel and the introduction of a new salary framework. Discussions with the Salary Commission are ongoing to ensure that no employee's salary is reduced during this process.

The chairman emphasized that the Labour Department has also been notified regarding the legal status of the current industrial actions, reinforcing communication and compliance between all parties involved.

Given the close link between the Sevanagala sugar factory, the livelihood of farmers in the Monaragala District, and a substantial workforce, the chairman stressed that ensuring the continuous operation of the factory is a collective responsibility of all stakeholders.

Consequently, he urged all employees to refrain from detrimental actions and to return to work immediately, encouraging cooperation to resolve existing issues legally through discussions.
