 පසුගිය කාලයේ කිඹුහුමටත් පාරට බැස උද්ඝෝෂණ කළ ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණ නිසාම අද ගොවි ජනතාව දුකෙන් සහ කලකිරීමෙන් සිටින බවද විපක්ෂ නායකවරයා කීවේය.

විපක්ෂ නායක සජිත් ප්‍රේමදාස මේ බව පැවසුවේ ගොවි ගැටලු සාකච්ඡා කිරීමේ අරමුණින් හම්බන්තොට කොග්ගල්ල ප්‍රදේශයේදී පැවැති ජන හමුවක් අමතමිනි.

කනකර දේපළ උකස් කර ණයට හා ගිනි පොලියට මුදල් ගෙන අඩුපාඩු මැද ගොවිතැන් කරන ගොවියාගේ උපකරණවලට IMF කියු නිසා වැට් ගහන බවද විපක්ෂයේ සිටින විට IMF එකට විරුද්ධ වූ ජවිපෙ දැන් IMF එකේ වහලකු වී ඇති බවද හෙතෙම වැඩිදුරටත් පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

තවද 2024 වසරේ ජනාධිපතිවරණයේ දී වත්මන් රජය දුන් පොරොන්දු ගැන සිතා බලන ලෙස රජයෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටින බවද විපක්ෂ නායක සජිත් ප්‍රේමදාස එහිදී සඳහන් කළේය.

Opposition Leader Highlights Farmers' Struggles Amid Recent Protests

The opposition leader has voiced concern that farmers are currently enduring hardships and confusion, a situation he attributes to recent protests organized by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP).

Reports from farmers indicate that prices being offered for their harvests were insufficient, raising questions about whether current prices are adequate as well. He emphasized that the government now seems more focused on repressing protests and attacking farmers rather than addressing their grievances.

Speaking at a public gathering in the Koggala area of Hambantota aimed at discussing agricultural issues, Sajith Premadasa highlighted the plight of farmers and their struggles in the face of rising costs.

He criticized the government's recent collaborations, suggesting that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has a detrimental impact on farmers. Despite previously opposing the IMF, he pointed out that the JVP has now seemingly aligned itself with the organization's interests.

Additionally, Premadasa urged the government to reflect on the promises made ahead of the upcoming 2024 presidential election, calling for accountability in their commitments.
